If "heaven" is suppose to be so great, wouldn't it make sense to just commit suicide before you get old enough to commit any sins?
I personally believe that the "concept" of heaven and hell are a matter of mind and a state of being, not a physical place one goes to after death. I could be wrong, but until that time, I'm already in heaven.

I serve people who deserve my service. To me, Jesus was a person (just like you & me) in history, nothing more nothing less. I don't have any personal knowledge of him.

Well, suicide is considered to be a sin, so that would get you sent to "The Furnace" on a one-way trip, even if it was only the first and only sin you ever committed.
And, I think of Earth as being the middle-point between Heaven and Hell (hmmm... Middle-Earth? J.R.R. Tolkein was onto something!). I think Earth wasn't necessarily here for you to choose a faith-- or not-- but more to test your ability to live the best way you can, under the conditions you were given to work with. God knows we're going to make mistakes, and that we're going to have differing ideas on religion; even if you take no religion at all, you can still live a good life that would befit God, can't you? It stands to reason, in my mind.
Of course, after you kick the bucket, I'm sure God would like to see you come back having some sort of faith, or at least some ideas on who He is to you, and that you lived your life according to those personal beliefs. That "Do Unto Others..." rule would seem to be a good place to start.
Religion is very subjective, and I don't take any side in anyones religion... I'm of my own beliefs, and I can tell you that I have never spilled blood over them. Personally, I think that's something God would like. I've been wrong before, though... I guess I'll have to wait and see.

This place is a testing ground for us.
Committing suicide will never get you to Heaven, because you never get a chance to repent of that sin. Unrepentant sinners cannot go to Heaven.
Both Heaven and Hell are real, but Heaven is permanent and exists now, but few humans are there right now. Hell is temporary and won't exist until 1000 years after Christ's Return, and no one is in it yet. The dead are in a state of dreamless sleep until He returns.

i think that it somewhat is a place. Heaven is a place to be satisfied, to take a seat back for all eternity. In a e book that i as quickly as examine, it somewhat is the place you recognize what's your authentic objective of living and loss of life. it is likewise a place of reunion with people who had long previous away and your writer. Hell on the different hand is an eternity of soreness and suffering. it somewhat is nearly a fee for each and all of the undesirable issues which you have carried out. take be conscious: suicide takes you immidiately to hell. Heaven and hell are additionally used as a state of being. they're the final words to describe the burden of your thoughts.

I'm more curious where these places would be. I can see you wouldn't need a lot of cloudy planets for heaven (seeing as how angels have wings, I'm assuming they need them because there is an air medium to fly through, ergo clouds, which also strangely makes them oxygen breathers like us). So, maybe only one or two atmospheric planets to hold the heavenly population. But hell, well, that might explain why there a 100 billion galaxies out there.

Hell is more like a metaphor. While those who are saved would go to Heaven and be with God, those who aren't would be left behind on earth but obviously not in a physical state. Watch the movie "Left Behind" starring Kirk Cameron (Mike from Growing Pains). It's a good example of what I'm talking about (minus the Bible stuff. I don't believe everything of the Bible).

But by committing suicide to get to heaven, you've also had to accept that theres a hell and you don't want to go there. And the purpose of this 'place' is so that we have something to look forward to, a goal if you will.

Heaven and hell are actual places and the purpose of them is provide justice. Depending on who you serve is where you wind up. You state you could be wrong in not believing but if you are then eternity is surely a heavy price to pay for not being sure.

If "heaven" and "hell" are suppose to be actual places we go to after death, what's the purpose of this place?
To make your choice. You have many years and experiences to go through, and eventually when it is your time, You make your choice.
The Choice of: Do I believe in nothing, Do I have no Faith, Have I not been Told enough
or
I have faith.

You will be judged as to weather you're worhy enough to go to heaven even if you commit suicide. So, you may still end up in hell. the above statements would hold only if you belived in hell and heaven.

Yeah, I wonder about that suicide thing, myself. I think that it's just easier to think of heaven and hell as places, but, in reality, I think heaven is just an eternity in the presence of God and hell is an eternity denied the presence of God, yet knowing you could have been with him. I think that, in the spiritual world, is enough but for our human minds, it's a tough concept to grasp.
