If a minor religion was persecuted at one time...?

and said religion is now a major religion, is it OK to turn the tables on other minor religions?

No. That is exactly how hate, prejudice, racism, intolerance for religion, sexism, etc get perpetuated.

Someone needs to say enough be the bigger person and forgive and forget.

That shows a lack of grace, but extremists will find ways to excuse their own bad behavior.
