I think that consumerism is one of the most aspects of our life right now, but I shouldn't say that consumerism is a religion; it's only one aspect of the life.

No. Consumerism is older than mankind. The animal and plant phyla practiced it before mankind. New-age religion is charity and forgiveness. We have not perfected it yet.
