Hello Debra,
This poem is short and sweet. It sounds like it comes from the heart--but there also seems to be a deeper meaning.
Something in the poem says "there's more, but I can't tell you"
and piques my interest, making me want to know more.
It's a good poem--if it's yours, keep on writing, OK??

For me a poem has to have rhythm. It doesn't necessarily have to rhyme but it needs to hit my emotions. I think clarity of expression is important as well. I don't like to second guess what I'm reading about. I always look for what I term "poetic gems"in the text.

It sounds more like a song or a chant, the rhythm is very strong. I like it. It also has a good meaning; it reminds me of the parable of the willow and the oak.

My life has always been a struggle and never a dance. I don't think that will ever change.
It is a beautiful poem. If you have a life like that you are blessed.

Gives me a feeling of a life which just wants to flow with the tide and do nothing else......A precious life wasted..........sorry.
