He gave me his phone number and said i can call him anytime. Im unsure about calling him since i dont know him and i dont wanna come across as being "desprate". He is attractive and all but i dont wanna play a fool cause i dont know him.

I think you should give him a chance and get to know him he wont find you desprate. he told you you can call him any time so how is that being desperate? just give him a chance and determine whether you want to go go further and keep on talking to him =)

Think of it this way, you can't be desperate because HE is the one that gave YOU his phone number. He made the first move so if anyone is desperate, it is him. Second, you won't play a fool by going out on a first date with him. There you will get to know him better and find out who he is. You won't be attached to him so if he is a jerk then you just run.

He gave you his number for a reason. You won't look desperate if you decide to call him. If anything, he'll feel good about himself if this lady he obviously had attraction towards takes the time out of her day to give him a call. Since you feel that he is attractive, get to know this guy better! You never know what could come out of it. I say go for it!

if you're interested, how else will you get to know him, though?
HE gave YOU his number, YOU didn't ask for it.
if anything he's being desperate so you have nothing to worry about. calling if you're interested is just the next logical step, but be careful-you may have met him at your neighborhood store and it might seem safe, but you don't know anything about him yet.
take it slow, and if you wanna be even more careful, call him from a number where he can't trace you (a pay phone, etc NOT your cell/home number)

LOL some guy came up to me and my sis in a grocery store and gave me his number. Then he said "goodbye beautiful" longingly, as i walked away, never to call him.... Go ahead and call. He gave you his number after all. Plus if he's hot go for it. I just hope you dont live in Manteca, CA cuz thats where the guy was that gave me his number

Wait 1 week and call him, be casual and see how it goes. See if he seem nice enuf to get to know better, ask around and see if you could find anything out about him. it's ok to call a man as long as you act like a lady.
