i would charge about $5-6 an hour unless you are sitting in affluent neighborhoods and can get away with $10/hr. $10/hr was the most i've ever heard of for a sitter, but that person was goooood and was CPR certified and had tons of daycare experience and played with the kids constantly.

as for the little girl. don't let her get to you. teach her to mind her own business. if she tattles, then tell her that you won't do anything about it b/c she tattled and that's just as bad as what so and so was doing. teach her to pay attention to what she's doing and stop worrying about everyone else.

As a mother, I pay my babysitter 6 bucks an hour. As far as your other problem goes, if you are considering babysitting, you should practice more patience. You are not there to parent. You are only there to make sure the child remains safe. Just ignore the tattling.

Take babysitting classes, they have a lot of good answers. Most charge $7 to $10 per hour, for private babysitting, which isn't everyday.
Again, get professional advice on how to deal with specific things in babysitting. It is a responsibility, and you should equip yourself with the proper knowledge. Good luck.

depends on the age of the kids babysitting, how many, and hours worked depends on the pay. If he or she is a good babysitter at least 6 to 7 bucks an hour for one kid. Depends on the region of US of where the babysitting takes place at. With that child i would serious find someone else to babysit. Sounds like trouble.

My Rates

1-2 kids ~ $5.00/hour
Each additional child ~ $1.25/hour

*When you are babysitting a baby under 10 months old, you should ask to be paid a bit more than your regular charge, since you must give more attention, change the baby, feed the baby, and put the baby to bed.

You should charge any where from 6-10 an hour, depending on the length of time and number of kids. I babysat a lot as a teen and was underpaid for a majority of the time!!!
