Salvation is being saved from the righteous judgment of God upon the sinner.
A lot of people think that salvation means being saved from yourself or the devil. But that is not accurate. All who have sinned against God are under the judgment of God. This judgment is known as damnation where God condemns to eternal hell all those who have offended Him by breaking His Law.
This does not mean that God is unfair. It shows that God is holy. God must punish the sinner. But, He has provided a way of escape so that people will not face His righteous judgment. This means that God is both holy and loving. He must manifest each quality equally. So, being saved from the wrath of God is called salvation.
Salvation is found in Jesus, and only in Jesus, who is God in flesh (John 1:1,14), and who died for our sins and rose from the dead. 1 Cor. 15:1-4 says...
"Now I make known to you, brethren, the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received, in which also you stand, 2 by which also you are saved, if you hold fast the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain. 3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,"
This is how salvation works: All of us have sinned against God and deserve judgment. But Jesus never sinned (1 Pet. 2:22). He lived the Law of God perfectly. In this He has a perfectly righteous standing before God. When the corrupt Jewish leaders forced Rome's hand into crucifying Jesus, God used this crucifixion as the means to place the sins of the world upon Jesus (1 Pet. 2:24; 1 John 2:2). This is when Jesus became sin on our behalf. 2 Cor. 5:21 says,
"He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him."
The crucifixion became the place where Jesus bore our sins in His body and suffered in our place. "But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, and by His scourging we are healed," (Isaiah 53:5). Remember, no sinner could please God perfectly and no sinner could offer a perfect sacrifice to God. Only God in flesh, Jesus, could do that.
So, since there is nothing we can do that is righteous before God (Isaiah 64:6 says our righteous deeds are filthy rags), then we cannot please an infinitely holy and righteous God by anything we do. But, Jesus who is perfectly righteous before God the Father, died in our place. What we could not do, He did.
If you want to escape the righteous judgment of God, then you need to trust in the sacrifice of God. You need to be made right before God, by God. This righteousness of Christ is given to you if you accept him, trust in Him, and believe in what Jesus did. This is why the Bible says that we are saved by grace through faith. "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God," (Eph. 2:8).
When you trust in what Christ has done on the cross, and in no works of your own (since they aren't good enough anyway), then the righteousness of Christ is given to you -- even as your sins were "given" to Jesus. Its like a trade. He gets your sin. You get His righteousness.
Once you have trusted in what Christ has done, then you possess eternal life and you will never face the judgment of God.
“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; 28 and I give eternal life to them, and they shall never perish; and no one shall snatch them out of My hand," (John 10:27-28).

Hi, I study in the manuscripts;
you are quite right, really.
There is something you are missing, however:
When Christ returns, He ushers in a 1000 yr. period of teaching and disipline. Those who have not had the opportunity to learn truth in this flesh age, will be taught then. Absolutely NOBODY, and I mean nobody,
goes to hell or anywhere else until after that teaching period, when the judgement occurs. This is not to say that everybody gets a second chance, but God knows that there are reasons why a person would not have access to the truth. Its not only those who are of false religions, but also think of all those in third world Countries who have no Bibles, and teaching God is a crime punishable by prison and/or death. They have no chance, either. And lets not forget
the many people in the West, who have forsaken God, not because they are terrible God-haters, but for a good reason - like the guy they did an article about in the Christian Newswire - that guy turned Athiest, and at every chance he gets, he states his hate for God. When you read his story, you find out he was from a small town, and his father was the most respected man in his community - and the head Pastor of the church. Yet, his son, from age four, was being horribly sexually and physically abused by him and his mother. He couldn't get help - who would believe him? So he lived thru that his whole childhood, and he felt that God abandoned him.
Do you really feel that God would throw this guy into hell? Not hardly. I imagine this guy will be held comforted in the very arms of Jesus Christ Himself. I really do, with all my heart.
You see there are lots of reasons for the things people do, and God understands the heart, so thats why judging is best left up to Him.
God is fair in all things. Nobody will go into the lake of fire without being given every possible opportunity to avoid it.

I believe that if a person grows up never hearing about Jesus that they will be saved. But in the times we live in the longer your alive the greater chance you have of hearing about Jesus, even if it's negative. Once your exposed to the truth or to a lie it falls on that individual to believe or not to believe.
According to Hebrews 9:27 "man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgement" The choice to accept or not accept Christ is done in the flesh. Choosing not to make a decision is in fact a decision. A decision can not be made however for those without any knowledge which would refer to the very young or a very rare occurrence.
As far as the comment about Hitler being saved. Just because you go through "the motion" of becoming a Christian doesn't mean that you are even if you think you are. What matters is what is in your heart not what comes out of your mouth. No one can make me believe that Hitler had a heart for God. A much better case could be made for Hitler being a failed attempt by Satan to rule the world!

Hebrews 9:27 says
"man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment"
so after you die you don't neccessarily sit down for a nice meet and greet with the maker of the universe, you are judged according to how you responded to what God revealed to you about Himself in this life.
"I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" is in the Bible, but I am not aware of any Bible passage that says we get a chance to "properly" meet God after death and then we get to choose to serve Him or not.
Imagine you live in a high-rise apartment. One afternoon you're watching TV when the fire alarm goes off. You open your front door to find your only escape route blocked by flames. Just then, a firefighter appears atop a ladder at your bedroom window. Do you refuse to go with the firefighter because there may be other people in the buiilding who won't survive? Most likely you'll gladly go with him, and then tell him about your elderly neighbor across the hall so he can save her, too.
It's an imperfect analogy, but the point is this: don't reject Jesus's claims and teachings based on what it might mean for other people. We would be foolish to assume we know all of God's plans for all of His creation, or to think we could do a better job of redeeming it. You don't have to have all your questions answered before you can believe. But by believing, you can trust you will have all questions answered in God's time.

Look through the bible and you will find
many prophecies that came to pass Like Noah and the flood, the birth of Jesus,
saddom and Gammorah, Daniels dreams
and the kings and the kings to come, etc...
The whole book is full of prophecies.
Its like watching a horse race and the same
horse just keeps winning, so everybody
gambles on the same horse over and over.
Theres no proof hes gonna win the next race, but everybody bets on him cause
they believe in him.
Thats the same for the bible there is no proof but everything thats written has either
came to passed or its yet to come.
If the bible says Jesus will save you only
in this life then the odds are pretty high
its true.
When you think of proof think of the horse
that keeps on winning.
Hope this helps.

Very interesting, but to know Jesus, is to learn his teachings and live them out. (I am the way and the truth and the Life....can mean to live it.) Children are too young to fully understand this, which is why Confirmation (and in some cases Baptism) is saved for much later.
Now, we all are born with the gift of free will, so we choose to learn new things, if you openly denounce to learn and not live the tenents, then yeah, judgement may be harsh. No one REALLY knows until they get there, but when one is raised to hate a country so much that they will blow up themselves and anyone else in their way (especially their own people's women and children) well, there is still a Power that comes in and can show them an alternative. If they choose to learn about the options, then maybe.
Would you say this about Nazi's too? Majority were Christians, but they killed other Christians and many other's too. They thought they knew Jesus, but didn't follow his teachings. I highly doubt they are a part of the Kingdom of Heaven now unless they petitioned for Forgiveness, and truly meant it. There is pure Evil out there (look at history, and Criminology, and really think about it.) Mental Illness, or social brainwashing.....there is still something that holds people back from doing these heinous things, even without knowing Jesus....those who commit them WITHOUT REMORSE may not benefit unless they truly mean it.
Children, for various reasons, have always been exempt from this due to sociological and health reasons. But after we hit "the Age of Reason" depending on the individual, we have to assume accountability and responsibility for our own course of Life...God sorts out the details and gives us choices everyday.
Remember, there is a difference between not knowing, and not choosing to know.

Those who know better are expected to do better. If you know of God and you have read his word and you have a choice to make then yes you are to accept him WHEN you receive this knowledge. You are not promised tomorrow or even the next few seconds to be on this earth. You cannot accept Jesus when you die...the bible says after death is the judgment. You will be judged for what you have done "In this life" not in your death. Therefore you cannot accept Jesus after you die. God is fair and makes sure everyone gets a chance to hear his word and to either accept him or to deny him...at some point in EVERY adult life they will have heard the word of God whether it be though t.v or radio or someone on the street, they will here it and then they are responsible for the decision they make with what they heard.
HERE IS YOUR PROOF [Heb 9:27] And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
[2Corinthians 5:10] For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done IN HIS BODY, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
In his body is talking about on this earth before you die and your spirit leaves your body.

Are you so insane to think that when you die you get to chose Jesus then? Did I read that right? I must have misunderstood. Nobody is that naive. Are they? Surly not. You quoted the verse that answers your question. How can a person of even below average intelligence possibly pull such an insane notion from a verse? It seems every day I come across a post that just baffles me...Well you won for today. This is truly the most idiotic thing that I have read yet. Congrats.

The bible tells us it is appointed for men once to die and then judgment. After death, there is no second chance to be saved. That is why this scripture is also in the bible, "today is the day of salvation".
I appreciate that you do not like or agree with this....but it is the way God has ordained salvation. One must accept His son while they still live, on this earth, willingly, or they will be forced to (without salvation) after death, i.e., "every knee shall bow, and every tongue confess, that Jesus Christ is Lord".

There is definitely a theory that says that if you have not heard the name of Jesus by the time you die then you will be given another chance (especially children). The Bible says though that if you have not heard the name of Jesus then the rocks and trees will cry out.

First, you must consider one thing is religion and God is something different. Religions divide people. God wants us to be together as part of Jesus´ Body.
Even Muslim will have the chance to accept Jesus in their lives but only God knows how. It´s a promisse: NO ONE WILL MISS THE CHANCE TO ACCEPT JESUS IN HIS LIFE.
So IT IS UP TO YOU BUDDY.
