It is getting so I hate to even turn on the television these days. Even fast food commercials such as BurgerKings so called family connections with the father and son are unethical and sending the wrong message to our young people. The son, whopper Jr , sasses his father , even tells him to kiss his bun in one ad, and then in another the father tells the son to keep a napkin in his wallet, just in case. This is going too far. What ever happened to moral decency on television. Do we now have to have parental controls for fast food commercials too??

These commercials are only a tiny representation of how our moral fiber in this society is declining. Our society as a whole has declined beyond belief. We see it in the work place with the lack of work ethic. We see it in our schools with children who are being pushed through the system and not even learning the basic skills needed such as being able to write a coherent sentence or do simple math with out the aid of a calculator. These commercials are an extension of this decline of our society. They represent that the behavior portrayed is acceptable. And to those of you who enjoyed the big bucking chicken, it shows your lack of intellect. That underlying tone of that is exactly what I mean by the lack of moral fiber. The use of vulgarity has become too widely accepted and it is simply disgusting. There are a wealth of words in the english language, yet so many seem to only exhibit the intelligence level to use a few choice derrogatory adjectives. My advise, by a thesauras.

To those of you who think I just need to lighten up, May I simply add, I stand by my morals and my values. I live by my integrity. And this posting has proved the point I was trying to make about the lack of ethics in American society. I can now finish writing my paper for my ethics class. Thanks to all of you who proved that many Americans are basically shallow and don't follow the morals and values of the parents and grandparents. I am truly sorry that I didn't get more positive feedback. I would have liked to have been able to prove that I was wrong.

I agree with you completely. EVERYTHING these days is aimed at people with an intelligence level somewhere just shy of moronic. The gratuitous use of profanity on regular television has become so mundane that no one even considers there may be an alternate to cussing. Has it really been so long ago that hearing the sound of a toilet flushing on "All in the Family" was once considered unacceptable? How far we've come. I try to keep my children from watching tv most of the time. My youngest has a tv/dvd player with no cable hooked up so she can watch only movies - & I don't let her watch anything I haven't approved, first. Children live what they learn - if you don't teach them morals, ethics & integrity then you have a generation of idiots who think the BK commercials are amusing........

I haven't seen those commercials for a while, but I really don't think they are anything to lose sleep over.
I mean, come on, you only get one life. Do you really want to waste it getting upset over this little thing and that little thing and so on?
Now, if they do a commercial where the Whopper molests Whopper Jr, or where a vanilla milkshake lynches a chocolate milkshake, then we might have an issue. But as far as this goes, I am going to join the other naysayers and suggest that you lighten up a bit and try to enjoy life a little more.
And for the record, I happen to have very good morals. I treat others the way I would wish to be treated myself (that is a common sense concept, too, not a religious one), I very rarely ever use curse words around other people, and I am just in general a nice guy.

I've seen the commercial. And what's up with that? Is Burger King really that hard up for business to have that Loser Erik Estrada on their commercials. Makes me have seconds thoughts on buying any burgers from BK.

Listen here, I am American and I have morals. For the above reasons like the BK commercials we don't watch alot of TV. We find other things to do as a family instead of planting ourselves in front of a box to be corrupted by what is on TV! There are very few shows that I do let my children watch because I do not want them growing up thinking that what they see on TV is the way they should act or think. I do have parental controls on my TV but I am the Major Parental Control in this family. And no my kids don't resent not watching alot of TV. They would rather spend it playing with their mom and dad anytime!

I agree! How about the SpongeBob BK commercial? What is up today??? My thoughts go back when Christians use to get on everyones nerves when they use to raise a fuss over all the music and tv crap, but now we kind of let them have there way, and if we all can see what that has lead to in our society (violence in schools, rap music, pornography) I hate to tell you I told you so...and now that it has gotten so bad even the non-Christians are starting to fight against this crap. Hmmmm "you reap what you sow". When will people see Christians only want the best for the family, society. We really are not trying to come off as condemners as much as we want to just be protectors! But people are blind to God and alive in sin!! God open their eyes!!!

It's not those commercials that bother me...it's the ones that include the King. That is one creepy dude! I'd rather have both Freddy Kruger and Jason Vorhees in my dreams than the king!

I don't think 'unethical' is the word you mean to use here. They might be in poor taste in your view, but they're certainly not dishonest or illegal or even immoral - although selling fast food to an overweight society is itself close to being unethical.
And if ones gets his moral compass from watching commercials, then that person is already socially doomed.
Besides, I think they're entertaining!

Really. Lighten up, don't take TV commercials or yourself so seriously. You are going to have an anxiety attack in public some day if you keep on the way you are.
