I know you have heard this a million times already, how great is your curve? I just had my scoliosis surgery in January. Is worth it, that is a strange question. For me it was worth it, I no longer have to worry about one day having trouble breathing, or having my spine push in on my organs. So, yeah, I find that it was worth it. Now physically, I stand straight, I look straighter, my hips are finally even. But that is not always the case for everyone. The surgery is more of a preventive measure, usually keeping the curve from progressing any further. Tips? My tip would be to stay strong, and always remember to see the beauty within yourself. I would be open to sharing my own personal experience with my surgery, if you would like to hear it. You can e-mail me, and I would try my very best to answer any questions in particular that you may have. My email address is IrishRose1987@yahoo.com
Good luck to you!

You cannot get good feedback with the information you provided. How great are your curves? What treatment has been tried and failed? Is there a component of kyphosis? How old are you. Did your doctor advise you get pulmonary or cardiac function studies? Is the surgery to be performed at a small community hospital or at a hospital with a spine treatment center?

The procedure is certainly worth the rehabilitation effort and risk if your curves interfere with your activities, or if there is likelihood of impairment to the function of your heart and lungs.

How bad is your curve? Is it causing you problems breathing or with your heart? If not, and isn't likely too, i'm not sure you have a reason to do it. Get a second opinion. I've ready that 20% of the time that a doctor reccomends it, the surgery isn't needed

i had a friend who had to wear a plastic back brace type thing. she wore this, instead of having surgery. are u have problems breathing? or other compliactions? if not, get a second opinion and see if they reccomend the back brace instead. u do have 2 wear it for a while, but it worked 4 her! Hope This Helped! God Bless♥

my friend tiffany, had to have one of them, she had scoliosis, she was out of school for 2 months, and you have to get a rod in your back kinda, and like you can't be hit hard there or you can die, and yeah if you don't get it done you could die, if your getting surgery for it, i am sure we're thinking of the same thing.
