WASHINGTON - The Pentagon has notified more than 35,000 Army soldiers to be prepared to deploy to Iraq beginning this fall, a move that would allow commanders to maintain the ongoing buildup of troops through the end of the year if needed.

Pentagon spokesman Bryan Whitman said Tuesday the deployment orders, which have been signed by Defense Secretary Robert Gates, do not mean that the military has made a decision to keep the increased level of 20 brigades in Iraq through December. A brigade is roughly 3,500 soldiers.

Instead, he said the decision gives the Pentagon the "capability" to carry the buildup to the end of the year. The replacement forces, Whitman said, would give commanders in Iraq the flexibility they need to complete the mission there. However, the everyday military man states this is not going to work. The USA will go down in defeat just like Vietnam. The troops will have died for nothing. Again....Like Vietnam.

First, getting shot at, bombed, mortared, and basically beat up every day is not fun. Second, soldiers both male and female would probably disagree with you. Assuming your not in the military as your question suggests. Third, if you want to know the hardships, join the military and go to IRAQ, otherwise I would suggest you keep out of things you don't have the faintest idea about.

Only a coward cries over something that they signed up for. The military is volunteer.

My everyday military man says we are where we need to be right now. He will continue to go back until the job his CIC gave him is completed.

And how many military folks have you seen crying today, erudite?

Another one of your fever dreams, hmmm?

Maybe you should avoid eating pizza before you go to bed -- the grease can really give you indigestion.

I love the way you take copyrighted material and edit it to fit your own twisted purposes.

It is no coincidence that the reenlistment numbers have dropped drastically in last quarter. Everyone is sick of this war.
