A little while ago I was having moderate sharp pains in my colon. They seemed to come and go and weren't accompanied by gas or nausea. Going to the bathroom got rid of the sharp pains. But it still feels a little sore. There wasn't any blood that I could see. I've had this problem before. It seems to come and go without any warning. I'm only 18. I'm far to young to have anything serious. So what could be my problem?

it's possible you have irritable bowel syndrome. From everything you describe that is what it sounds like. I've enclosed a link to a website that has incredible information about this condition and how to take care of it. Read every page of the web site.

If your problem persists see your medical doctor.

I agree with David, but you may also be experiencing symptoms of an inflamed appendix as well. Pain is a sure sign you should be checked out by a doctor.

NO ONE is too young to have serious health issues. But it sounds to me like you just needed to go to the bathroom and waited too long.

How can you tell definitively that the pain is in your colon?

Colitis - dude I got it when I was younger than you and it lasts on/off forever.
