* Note - Not sure if you are asking about audio or video...I answered assuming video*
Honestly, not much. I had this argument with Circuit city employees that were trying to convince me to buy the Monster HDMI cables for $125 (or higher!). I told them that the quality of the TV is the most important thing, and as long as you buy "decent" cables (Phillips, etc) the naked eye will not be able to see a difference.
I spent $30 on Phillips HDMI cable and the picture looks just as good as it did in the store. Now, if you were to buy a no-name brand for less than $10, you'd probably see a difference...
I still want to go back to Circuit City with my Phillips cable and challenge them to see a difference between the 2, but I know they're just trying to earn some commission...so I won't fight that battle :-)

The dudes who prefer to spend like $100 on a cable or two say that there is a noticeable difference. I say, try different cables and get the one you like. Don't spend all that hard earned cash on some crap because this douche bag said they're top quality. You may decide you like another, cheaper cable even better. It's all about tone, and you'll have to experiment to find that.

i work at sears and the other day I set up two home theater systems. Identical I used monster component cables for one and RCA component cables for the other I heard no difference what so ever. When you buy Monster cables you are paying for the name. THX is on the package thats what you are paying for.

I tried using Monster cables for speakers (older ones) and they were garbage. They were extremely difficult to strip, they didn't label which one was positive and negative and they liked to short (Even after checking for contact). In the end I switched to regular copper wire which worked WAY better.
For certain things they may be alright, but if you're looking for speaker wire I'd suggest you look into something else.

if the run between your tv and the source (dvd player/games console etc) is less than 1.5 metres then there is absolutely no difference between the cheapest and most expensive cables. if however you have longer runs then a good quality low loss cable is essential for optimum audio/video quality.

They are better. Are they worth it ? They are made of better, more expensive materials. Like gold contacts. Hey, copper works just fine. And the wire is big enough to carry hundreds of watts. Hey, the wire inside of your system is not that good.
It depends. Most people can not hear the difference. Like most can not tell HD tv from regular digital.

what are you trying to connect...high end wire is not needed for basic gear, i'll put plain RG-6 Quad up against monster video or dig audio wires, i do it everyday, there is a place to use these cable but most times you cant see/hear a difference......

La última vez quería un cable que conecta mi ordenador al televisor, el cable que me ha llegado corresponde con su descripción, tiene buena transmisión digital, es bastante resistente y una buena calidad y todo a un precio muy bueno, como siempre una excelente compra.

the quality is not very different..
the main difference is the durability...monster wires are much better if you have to bend them...for example, if you mount your tv and have to run it through a wall, it requires a lot of bending, which it can do because it is stronger...
i would get a monster just because they are reliable and they work great...and look amazing
