1 Thes. 4:16 For the Lord (Kurios - Jehovah) himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

Michael had NO power or authority over devils! Michael had to implore the name of the "Lord - Kurios" to rebuke the devil! Yet, Jesus is the one who is called by this name (Lord - Kurios - Jehovah) and clearly HAS authority and power over devils. By His name, the disciples have authority and power over devils!

Heb 1:5 For to which of the angels did He ever say: "You are My Son, Today I have begotten You"? And again: "I will be to Him a Father, And He shall be to Me a Son"?

Re 14:14 Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and on the cloud sat One like the Son of Man, having on His head a golden crown, and in His hand a sharp sickle.
Re 14:15 And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to Him who sat on the cloud, "Thrust in Your sickle and reap, for the time has come for You to reap, for the harvest of the earth is ripe."
other angels came out making announcements in verses 6-9) and he cries out "..with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud" to reap the harvest. Please note that this 4th angel cries out TO someone, and that someone is Jesus! It is very clear that the archangel spoken of in 1 Thess 4:16, is the 4th angel and not Jesus Christ himself!

Psalm 102:1, 24-25
Hear my prayer, O Lord (Jehovah), and let my cry come unto thee.
I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days: thy years are throughout all generations. [25] Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands.

Hebrews 1:8-10
But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. [9] Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. [10] And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:

In Hebrews 1:10, the Father himself confesses that Jesus Christ is LORD, Jehovah (of Psalms 102) and that it was Jesus that laid the foundations of the earth and the heavens are the works of his hands! Which God is this which is mentioned in Psalms 102.

JW's are not the only ones who believe this. The name of Michael only appears 5 times in the bible. He is referred to as "one of the chief princes" "the great prince who has charge of your people" and as " the archangel" Dan 10:13 12:1 Jude 9. At 1 Thessalonians 4:16 the command of Jesus Christ for the resurrection to begin is described as "the archangel's call" and Jude 9 says that the archangel's name is Michael. They say,"Would it be appropriate to liken Jesus commanding call to someone of lesser authority? Reasonably, then, the archangel Micheal is Jesus Christ." Rev. 12:7-12 says that Michael and his angels would war against Satan and hurl him and his wicked angels out of heaven in connection with the conferring of kingly authority on Christ. Jesus is later depicted as leading the armies of heaven in war against the nations of the world. Rev.19:11-16 They say, "Is it not reasonable that Jesus would also be the one to take action against the one he described as "ruler of this world". John 12:31 Daniel 12:1 associates the "standing up of Micheal" to act with authority with "a time of trouble, such as never has been since there was a nation till that time." They say, "That would certainly fit the experience of the nations when Christ as heavenly executioner takes action against them. It goes on. Anyway I have a problem with drawing conclusions and stating them for fact.

I'm just dying to know what scripture plainly tells us he isn't?

I suppose you are ignoring the scripture that tells us the lord Jesus will descend with an ARCHANGEL'S CALL.

Oops- your bad!

*And by the way, only one Archangel is ever mentioned in the Bible- Michael. The term itself means premier or foremost angel and is NEVER used in the plural sense of the word, thus there is only one archangel. Michael is the chief angel and leads God's heavenly armies- who else do you think God would entrust that to? Anyone but His only begotten son? I don't think so. Perhaps you should research something before trying to denounce it, or else you look like an uneducated snob.*

Jesus and Jehovah are NOT THE SAME PERSON! The scripture in 1 Thessalonians is "lord", meaning Jesus. LORD is Jehovah God- two separate people. Every single Bible translation acknowledges the difference between lord and LORD.

There is a HUGE difference between "mighty god" and Almighty God. Tell me, is Jesus ever called the Almighty? Nope. Anything can be referred to as a god if you give it worship and veneration- a human, a powerful spirit being, even a person's stomach can be a God if they let it rule their lives (gluttony). Only Jehovah is called the Almighty God.

What's your point? Jesus admitted that he was the "master worker" through which God created the heavens and the Earth, i.e. "let us make man in our image."

Way to take verses out of context my good man!

Not "An Archangel"; but THE Archangel.

THE spirit creature called Michael is not mentioned often in the Bible. However, when he is referred to, he is in action. In the book of Daniel, Michael is battling wicked angels; in the letter of Jude, he is disputing with Satan; and in Revelation, he is waging war with the Devil and his demons. By defending Jehovah’s rulership and fighting God’s enemies, Michael lives up to the meaning of his name—“Who Is Like God?” But who is Michael?

At times, individuals are known by more than one name. For example, the patriarch Jacob is also known as Israel, and the apostle Peter, as Simon. (Genesis 49:1, 2; Matthew 10:2) Likewise, the Bible indicates that Michael is another name for Jesus Christ, before and after his life on earth. Let us consider Scriptural reasons for drawing that conclusion.

Archangel. God’s Word refers to Michael “the archangel.” (Jude 9) This term means “chief angel.” Notice that Michael is called the archangel. This suggests that there is only one such angel. In fact, the term “archangel” occurs in the Bible only in the singular, never in the plural. Moreover, Jesus is linked with the office of archangel. Regarding the resurrected Lord Jesus Christ, 1 Thessalonians 4:16 states: “The Lord himself will descend from heaven with a commanding call, with an archangel’s voice.” Thus the voice of Jesus is described as being that of an archangel. This scripture therefore suggests that Jesus himself is the archangel Michael.

Army Leader. The Bible states that “Michael and his angels battled with the dragon . . . and its angels.” (Revelation 12:7) Thus, Michael is the Leader of an army of faithful angels. Revelation also describes Jesus as the Leader of an army of faithful angels. (Revelation 19:14-16) And the apostle Paul specifically mentions “the Lord Jesus” and “his powerful angels.” (2 Thessalonians 1:7; Matthew 16:27; 24:31; 1 Peter 3:22) So the Bible speaks of both Michael and “his angels” and Jesus and “his angels.” (Matthew 13:41) Since God’s Word nowhere indicates that there are two armies of faithful angels in heaven—one headed by Michael and one headed by Jesus—it is logical to conclude that Michael is none other than Jesus Christ in his heavenly role.

Just plain old spiritual discernment of Scriptural passages.

The Bible tells us plainly that Jesus was also Michael the archangel and Jehovah's Word is certainly true.

Hebrews 1:3-4--" who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they."
( Notice that Jesus sits at the right hand of God therefore he can't be God. Can you sit at the right of someone if you are that someone? The answer is no.)

Hebrews 1:6---"But when He again brings the firstborn into the world" (Jesus is God's first angelic creation)

Daniel 12:1--"“At that time Michael (Jesus) shall stand up,
The great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people; And there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation, Even to that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, Every one who is found written in the book." Compare Matthew 24:21

Revelation 12:7--"And war broke out in heaven: Michael (Jesus)and his angels fought with the dragon (Satan the Devil); and the dragon and his angels fought, but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer."

2 Thessalonians 1:7--"and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels" (The title "archangel" means "chief of the angels" so it is not surprising that Revelation speaks of Michael and his angels.)
Also at Matthew 24:31 it reads---"And He will send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other."
And at Matthew 25:31--"When the Son of Man comes in his glory with all of his angels, he will sit on his royal throne." (CEV)
And at 1 Thessalonians 4:16--"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first" (Jesus has the voice of the archangel since he is the archangel or chief angel in God's heavenly arrangement)

Re: ISAIAH 9:6--Jesus is called "mighty God" not Almighty God. There is only one Almighty God and it is not Jesus (Michael)
Re: To which of the angels did he say "You are my son---?" The answer is Jesus

I have already read three nice replies so there is no need to repeat the more or less same things.

But I have a question for you.

Where in the bible it says that Jesus is god and where is the trinity mentioned?

Did the prophets before Jesus knew about trinity? They all prayed to One God. Not One God but three But one.

Please provide a scripture where Jesus actually says he isn't the archangel.

Considering that ...

-He is the first of the spirit creation and, in, fact was used by his father Jehovah to create all other angels (Colossians 1:17)

-When he was arrested in the Garden of Gethsemane on the night before his execution he told Peter he could call down a legion of angels if he wanted to and

-His last words before ascending to heaven at Matthew 28:19 were "all authority has been given me in HEAVEN and on earth", which would include authority over all other angels

... I don't understand the question.

according to the book of Revelations he was.
god asked all of heaven if there was anyone worthy for the role as the son of god. and when no one answered Jesus came forth as the only perfect being left. mind you 2/3 of the angels of god was fallen angels and the ones that did stay in heaven asked for forgiveness not much of a choice.

well in his earthly form he was known, lived & died a man called Jesus.
when he returns to the earth, any time soon, next week, next year or whenever God deems the time is right.
he will be Michael.

the bible says so.
& as such why dispute god?

Who says he's not? An archangel isn't such a bad thing to be. You get big pretty wings, celestial swords, shiny robes, harp lessons, all kinds of perks. These days, Jesus needs a new career anyway -his old one is fizzling, thank the Goddess.
