He has shown to a doctor and got a sonography done. All's well.He has bowel movements every four days. Drinks lot of water. Has taken some natural stimulants since I do not want him to be dependent on allopathic drugs on a routine basis,at his age.

Constipation is due to a lack of 'water' in the bowel, which kinda sounds silly? It just means that the food he is eating is too high in fiber and he needs something that is liquid entering the bowel. I am on morphine and have fights with constipation so I returned to the old ways, PRUNES! However be careful, I ate three and it worked! I would not eat three a day, say perhaps two every third day, which seems to work. You can buy prunes in a tin, in syrup, not nice but better than constipation. The prune is not really digested so all the fluid is taken into the bowel and life is so much easier!

Does he take any medications, either prescribed or over the counter(including natural herbs)? A common symptom of many meds is constipation. Have him bring any and all meds or supplements he is taking to a pharmacist or doctor that can tell him if they could possibly be having this effect on him.

Since your son seems to get lots of exercise, eats a healthy diet, and drinks water..........it IS strange that he feels constipated. Does he eat a lot of cheese, or something else that could cause this? Are you sure he gets enough fiber, such as a regular bowl of cereal a day? If not, try that.
