First, if you attempt to extend the trial period of that software, you can be punished. Don't you ever read the licensee agreements and terms of service/use on the website? If you want the software, then you will have to pay for it! It is not ethical to cheat like that.
Anyway, to answer your question (I don't recommend doing this): This is an old trick that will sometimes work. First, turn off your computers clock. Next, disconnect from the internet entirely. That might allow you to play the game with no time limit unless it has a built-in timer. Please don't do that however! It could be considered illegal in some ways!

I agree with most of these people. If it's software enjoyable enough to want to do this, then why not take the honest approach and buy it?
Do you recommend theft in general? Do you steal from book stores? Why should software be any different? The people that make it work hard, and very little software with a sixty minute freebie costs more than twenty dollars.
There's a reason why they call it piracy. Because it destroys honest business.

Unlike the first respondent, I know that not all games are $10.. most are much more.. if he feels you should spend the money, let him kick in..
However, I've found that, sometimes, when I save the download instead of doing a Run, I can play longer, also, instead of closing, between plays, leave the game up, but minimized.. of course, that requires that you have a good amount of memory so the computer doesn't get bogged down.

There are many ways in altering the game to make it run forever, but there's not much point. Not only will it take ages to complete, but it would be against your goverment agency laws.
I'm sure your child would appreciate you buying him the full game rather than spending hours hacking a free trial.
Get a life!

I would just put out a little bit of money on purchasing the games. In my opinion having to go through a proccess every time to play the game for only 60 mins (if there is a process, as far as my understanding is there isn't one) is just painful. And besides, you are technically cheating that company out of money. So easiest way is to just put out a bit of money.

Yes - go to Wal-Mart or Staples and spend the lousy $10 for the full version of Bejewelled 2 or Chuzzle.
I'm sure your son would really appreciate your attempts to steal software and deprive the developers of the ability to actually get paid for the work they did.
