the mushy feeling is probably the inflammation and swelling. There can be many reasons for this arthritis, systemic inflammation, or Fibromyalgia , just to name a few. You're going to have to see your medical doctor to find out what exactly is wrong with your knee.

For now place an ice pack on the knee for ten minutes , several times a day. Also take Advil tablets three to four times daily. They should help with the pain and inflammation.

Depending on your age it could be either patellofemoral syndrome or chondromalacia patellae. Both of these conditions are problems with the interaction between your knee cap and your femur (thigh bone). The mushy feeling is from swelling. You should take an over-the-counter anti-inflammatory (Aleve, Advil, etc.) as directed on the bottle, and place an ice bag directly on the skin over the area that is painful/swollen for 15 minutes. If this doesn't cause the swelling/pain to decrease in 24-48 hrs then you should see an orthopedic doctor to assess your knee.

Its probably just a little arthritis (which effects all ages)
This time of year when it is so humid, arthritic fluids seem to build up more when they usual, even if you aren't bothered normally with arthritis. Take some Aleve Liquid Gel and try to keep it up as much as possible. You can Ice it, but never use heat.

I have knee disorders additionally with cartilage. My surgeon informed me to be blissful that it wasn't a ligament. Both of my knees come out of situation (messed them up gambling basketball). So I had surgical procedure performed on one knee first and by no means went again for the opposite knee surgical procedure. If you're at a factor of desiring surgical procedure and your favoring a designated knee then there may be in general a tear for your cartilage. Your frame is attempting to battle it so your knee in general has fluid in it as good (a coping mechanism). your frame is attempting to shield your knee. So sure, when you consider that of all of this you're having agony. The handiest factor that's going to repair it's surgical procedure and/or preserve running them knees. you wish to have them for existence so don;t stop on them. Good success!
