The only mandatory thing in Wicca is do what thou wilt and harm none. As for magic, it is necessary for us to grow as fully rounded individuals. It is a harmless way to change our inner selves for our betterment and those around us.Your fear of magic is based on what you have heard about it. Most likely you have heard that magic is evil, about controlling others, and Satanic. That's all superstitious nonsense. Try something simple (magic) to acquaint you with this new phenomena in your life. I made it snow on a hot July night. I just wished it would snow and it did. MY company left immediately. They couldn't believe it. Scared them. But, there was nothing to fear and we are all capable of doing the same.It is natural for humans to change their world or circumstances in this way.

No, there is no mandate to practice magic but you will find it a bit interesting to talk with other Wiccans if you don't. There are other pagan faiths upon which Wicca is based that do not have the emphasis on magic and you may find them more fulfilling. Start by looking at Celtic Reconstructionist Paganism (this provides the god-structure for most of Wicca).

I don't think it's mandatory, as far as I know, for Wiccans or Neo Pagans to do magick, there are some who don't place a big emphasis on that, and focus on the religious / belief aspects instead....

It is not mandatory to practice magick. If you don't want to or if you don't feel comfortable with practicing magick you don't have too. I practice magick because I feel closer to the God and Goddess when I do. Like pray makes Christians feel closer to their God.

You don't have to. Nothing is mandatory in Wicca, it's a spiritual path, not a tool of control. It offers wisdoms and recommendations but does not presume to administrate your life or practices.

In Wiccan belief, and many Pagan beliefs, you can't help but practice magic. Everything you do is a magical act if it is done with intention. You don't have to cast spells, of course. But prayer is also considered a magical act. As is meditation, and these really are necessary.

No, Caity S. You can be a Wiccan and not practice Magick. The choice is yours and yours alone.

No you don't have to if you don't want to. Just like we have a god and goddess but we believe that they are in each of us and in the things around and we can chose to have a shrine for them if we want, but we don't have to. Try Cunningham's(sp?) book on Wicca Hope I helped! ~Eve
