I am currently going through a divorce (I was married for 5 years). I would like to start dating again, but don't really know how to go about it. I don't like bars, and I really don't know any other way to meet people. Please help!!!!

I was married for 10 years and have 4 kids...I've been single for over a year and it sucks!! :-) If you have kids, going to their school or sporting events is a great way to meet people. Also, not to sound simplistic, but just go out alot. Whether it be with friends, to the mall or for a walk. Often times we get depressed and tend to hole up in the house which just makes things so much worse.
And the minute you stop looking, it usually finds you...of course this is almost always when you look like crap and are least expecting it :-) good luck.

Hey, after I divorced, I meet my new boyfriend in Wal-mart. Check around your hometown and see if there is any type of singles group or speed dating stuff. Yhea, i know the bar thing, most of them there do not want a relationship. You have to be so careful nowsdays too. Start hanging out with your friends and just go out to events like fairs, outside concerts, ball games and such. Someone will come along.

Everybody knows that bars are most populated with single people looking for other singles. But i guess you dont like the environment so i suggest u setup a myspace page and invite people in your area as friends to ensure saftey. Myspace is heavily populated with people looking for someone to talk to. Did u consider going about meeting others the same way u met you husband?

You can meet people any where. Like I met a relay nice guy at the store in the fruit and vegetables . It is all in what you are looking for. If you just want a good time then you wood look in a place where the young guys hang out, but if you want more look where you wouldn't expect,or don't look at all that is when you usually find what you are looking for. Just remember to stay open and friendly.

Try online dating
Ask one of your friends to hook you up with a single friend (don't be shy)
Find one activity or hobbie that men are interested in, and take it up (this one is brilliant).
The point is, you need to get yourself out there. The gym idea is also a great one. However, I don't know exactly what shape you are in. If you could use some work, join a female one to get yourself in better shape, then join a coed gym.

after my wife left me i found the online chat rooms a lot of fun ---- i did meet some wonderful ladies and i met my lady online so maybe consider it and no i did not pay any money to use the site
