Why should we not give up on America? Because it always has been and still is THE PLACE that the whole world is trying to get INTO. Why do you think that is?
Yes, we have problems. Yes, we have security issues - that's what happens in a nation based on RIGHTS and FREEDOM.
And yes, we need to toughen up. In fact, I think that the kindest thing we could do for Mexico is to tighten up our borders. All the young, strong, brave, daring Mexican men who need to fix their country (revolution? maybe) are instead fleeing to the US. Close up the borders, and in a generation or two, Mexico also will be a great country.

It's all about politics, and politically correctness. No one wants to face the issue head on. Bush scrapped the whole idea for a border wall because it was "underfunded". What I feel it really is is that he is from Texas. One of the states that hires the most illegals. Doing away with illegals would put a severe damper on Texas' economy. Also, it would lower his approval rating among states that are dependent on illegals.

well...i think u 4get that this country of "urs" was biuld on immigrants and most of them illegal at the time...maybe even ur great great grandfather came into the country illegall.
but i think since so many americans r willing to pick all the fruits and vegeatbles and clean houses, or pick up a mower for $ 3-$4 /hr we really should close the bordes and kick them all out. as longest as amerikans r hirering the illegalls to do hard jobs for almost no money , they will find a way to come and try to make a better life for themselfs...just like they did since the USA is the USA

This is my country and your country and we will not surrender to these illegal immigrants! We, the law-abiding citizens should mobilize and march on Washington, D.C. and really shut the country down for a couple of days as we walk, ride and fly into the DC area in protest of the lack of law enforcement against illegal immigrants! Why don't we plan a July 4th -- the US Independence Day -- billion person march on all our State Capitols in protest of illegal immigration and our government's failure to enforce our laws? Do you think Bush will bring out his Blackwater Private Army to try to shut us down? Let's get all the American Citizens and Law-abiding immigrants and business owners to shut down every company for one or two days and refuse to work or do anything until the immigration laws that are currently on the books are enforced? How about if everyone who is a law-abiding citizen or legal immigrant takes it upon themselves to make citizens' arrests and/or builds lists complete with pictures of illegal immigrants and those who are hiring and harboring them and then we carry that documentation to Washington and our State Capitols to demand law enforcement? How about we build our own database to check social security numbers and legal identifications? How about if every law-abiding citizen refuses to attend or support any church that supports illegal immigration and amnesty for illegal immigrants? We have the power. We just have to have the courage to use it. Right now, the illegals feel empowered because we aren't getting organized. We outnumber them for the time being and we need to get busy and act. Whether or not you believe it, this country is on the verge of a Civil War. We can avert that war if we law-abiding citizens unite to demand that our laws are enforced.
We are loyal to God and the United States. We will not give up ---NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I gave up on this country a while back and left it. Due to circumstances beyond my control, I had to come back. I hate it here and unless people get in gear really fast, there will be no reasons not to give up on it.
I used to love my country until all I saw around was the brown invasion and no one seemed to care or want to do anything about it.

James, I have given up on our country...there is a glimmer of hope tho and I try hard to hold onto it....
That hope is someday soon a new generation is going to be running this country...they have been raised way different then us and are more open minded. They are not haters of either side, they are not war happy, right now they are just hope!

The problem is, nobody knows what to do. There is no way to simply round up 3 million people and ship them off to Mexico. We wouldn't even be able to find most of them.
