A dog that is used to being able to go anywhere will have to be retrained to go outside again. Or he could have possibly been trying to show but didn't know what signs to give. Don't punish him, just pay better attention to him when he is in the house. You might want to think about keeping him on a leash attached to you while he is in the house until he gets the routine down again.

No wonder the dog did this on the floor!!!
The dog is how can I say this nicely (very upset with you) !!!!
How would you feel if you were living in a house and one day you were thrown outside for some reason??
This poor dog is so confused!!!
What do you want from this dog!!!! What did your kid do to make the dog growl in the first place???
I am a believer that if you are going to be a pet owner then the animal should be a inside animal. What is the use of having a pet if you are going to keep it outside????
Dogs behave only as good as they were taught to be!!!! Animals are only as smart as their owners!!!!!!!!
You can't expect this poor dog to just come into the house and act like it used to before it got thrown out of the house!!!
You are going to have to take some time out of your life to train the dog all over again.. And maybe just maybe the dog will give you a brake and will become a part of the family again.
P.S. The poor dog probably didn't get any attention when it was outside now you want to act like things are just like the good old days???

Actually, I DO believe that he peed and pooped on the living room carpet, as you stated, you moved him outside years ago. It's been a long time since he lived inside and had to go outside to go to the bathroom.
Hopefully, he'll just need a little refresher course.
Good luck!

because he has lived outside for so long he has got use to going toilet where he sleeps and where he lives so when hes inside he treats it the same as when hes outside.your just going to have to house train him agen as when he was a puppy, but you know the sayin "you cant teach an old dog new tricks".......

Its been years since he has been in the house. You can't expect him to remember. Being house trained was sort of a habit for him. Then being outside for years he probably forgot what being in the house was all about.

His training was not enforced, and he got use to doing his buiness where he pleased. You can retrain him, he should pick it up fast.
