Do you realize that an assumption is being made here?
Here is a dirty little secret our government does not want you to know. They can and have been collecting taxes from "them damn illegals". They do it this way,
1) The IRS issues them a number not a social, but one specifically to collect taxes from them and this has been in place for years. It is called an Individual Tax Identification Numbers (ITINs)
So while some of you have been up in arms about them not paying into the system and just taking, wake up, they have been paying. Don't get me wrong, some have not been but as soon as they found out that they could, they have been.
Now, there is the issue of those that just come to have the children and go home but this is not just a Mexican thing. This is an industry in South Korea as well. They just home after giving birth here. They do it because they see it as making it easier for the child to get into school here for college education.
Now to discriminate against non-citizens who are here LEGALLY, you are going to have a problem. The legal ones pay taxes too, so what is it going to be? Want their money but not their children. I don't think so. If you don't want their offspring, then don't want their taxes which helps to pay for a lot of the crap everybody benefits from .

The Constitution was designed to regulate the power and activities of the FEDERAL government. The Bill of Rights was added to the Constitution to further spell out the activities which the FEDERAL government could NOT DO! Amendments 9 and 10 were deliberately added to PROTECT the States and their affairs FROM interference by the federal government. For instance, it was universally recognized that while Congress could NOT make any law respecting the establishment of religion, several of the individual STATES which ratified the Constitution AND the Bill of Rights DID have established STATE religions.
With the addition of the 14th Amendment, groups and individuals began to file cases in federal courts claiming that this amendment GAVE the federal government AUTHORITY to supervise the activities of both state and local governments - an exact REVERSAL of the original intent of the Founding Fathers. The first case which advanced this doctrine reached the Supreme Court in 1873. That Supreme Court held that the 14th Amendment did NOT grant such authority to the federal government.
We just need to recognize the literal interpretation, the way it was written, not the bastardization of it as it is now.
And yes I vote,I organize ,I contribute and I campaign for the people of my choice. I know my states senators and my representative's personally. As well as my citys and countys government.
I am deeply involved in this countrys political process and hell no,any one that is NOT a legal citizen should NEVER be allowed to vote.
The queen needs to read the truth about the taxes, most illegal aliens in border states work for CASH No taxes taken out at all. Thats a fact ,thats truth. The few that do pay taxes with TIN#s or fake or stolen SS numbers dont deserve any taxes back.they commited another crime by useing a fake card. Do you understand that the use of public services, schools, hospitals, prisons and entittlements by illegal aliens far out weigh the taxes that some pay.

Well, as you can see that a lot of American-Americans don't want to get married and have kids anymore. If there are no illegal immigrants giving birth in USA the population will surely decrease. If the population decrease, the economy will go down and no people to go for war. However, the law does not give advantage to illegal parents living in US because the parents will not be getting any wellfare or anything until the child turns 21 and applys a green card for them. If they could stay illegally and work illegally to raise their child for 21 years, they should get some benefit from the country for their hard work. I don't think it is easy for them to live as illegal immigrant. They don't get well paid and they don't well treated.

I think if would dramatically change immigration. People wouldn't be so quick to to come over if they didn't have that benefit. They would HAVE to do things correctly. Then we can start on the Guest Worker Program, with the rule that if you have a baby here, they will still be a citizen of the parents country. Thank you for asking this question so properly, without offending.

Any newborn born in US is a US citizen as long via fact the verify isn't a foreign places diplomat or a member of a foreign places military proper in occupation. in case you provide start in US mutually as on a visa waiver software your newborn would be a US citizen. besides the undeniable fact that pregnant vacationers would be denied admission into US for that very reason. the newborn would not would desire to do something as quickly as he hits 18 or 21. as quickly as a citizen continuously a citizen. even with the incontrovertible fact which you're able to hold onto the start certificates and procure a US passport for the newborn and renew it as quickly because it expires so your newborn has info of their US citizenship. Arizona became into making an *** out of itself by ability of attempting to introduce a bill which might deny start certificates to babies born to unlawful immigrants. The given bill in no way became regulation and regardless of if it might it may be struck down by ability of the 1st courtroom it might attain.

Amen! I have been saying that for years now. If a child is born to an illegal immigrant then the child is not a citizen either. The child should not be allowed citizenship until the child reaches legal age (18) I believe this would cut down on those who come here to have a child to be able to stay. This would also cut down on public assistance(welfare, food stamps and medical) that is given to illegals. Then maybe there would be the funds to give poor American children health care!

All we have to do is repeal the part of the law that was changed in 1996 to revoke the citizenship of children born to illegal immigrants. I don't believe the original intent of the law was to shield lawbreakers. I believe that part of the law was to allow children born of law-abiding immigrants to have automatic citizenship--not provide an exception for lawbreakers. All we need to do is to enforce the laws that are currently on the books and repeal that one section of the law. LAWS WITHOUT ENFORCEMENT ARE SIMPLY WORDS ON PAPER AND ARE USELESS!

People wonder why taxes are constantly going up and there's the answer! The government cannot afford to keep feeding, clothing and housing all the illegals. There needs to be a happy medium for the hard working Americans who pay for them to survive.

I think that in order to be a citizen, you should be require to vote, locally, regionally and federally. You should be required to take civics classes and do service for your community. I believe that even if you are born in the US, even if you are born to wealthy parents, you should not automatically get citizenship till you earn it with civic involvement.
Likewise I believe that if you are a hard working person, and you are honest, and you do service to your community you should get the vote, whether you were born in the country or not.
That would mean that, for instance Paris Hilton, who by her own admission has never voted once for anything in her life, should be denied citizenship, while my neighbor Chun Ho, who gives time on Sunday to clean the community park, should be granted citizenship.
I hope that pisses off the xenophobes, but I really believe it.
Do you vote? Do you even know who your congressional rep is, or your local councilman? If not, what kind of citizen are you?

It's not really changing the rules. It's applying the 14th amendment as it was intended. The 14th amendment was about slavery, not the children of illegal aliens. Part of the problem then comes when the parents say they shouldn't have to leave because their kids are citizens.
