COMPLETELY plugged ears, loss of appetite (haven't eaten since Sunday's lunch), everything tastes and smells weird, salivating excessively, wake up feeling dizzy, cold sweats, and stuffy nose? I know these are pretty vague and can probably associate with a lot of sicknesses, but i'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced them all at the same time before and what their diagnosis was.

I had this last year. My whole family got it. It is just some sort of weird flu. You can go to the doc to make sure there is no infection. But more than likely, you will have to ride this out with ibuprophen and tylenol and bed rest. It actually took months for us to get our taste back to normal after all the other symptoms had gone away. It was just as you described. There was no throwing up or diareah or anything. Just achy all over, chills and nothing tasted good. I had no appetite.

an inner ear infection could explain the blocked ears, dizzyness and nausea. if the eustachian tube (tube from your ears down to your pharynx) is blocked it is unable to regulate the pressure inside your ear which is used for balance. an infection could also explain the feverish cold sweats and stuffy nose. try some paracetamol for the temperature and any pain, and a decongestant to help the congestion in your ears and nose. PLEASE NOTE do not take any decongestants such as pseudoephedrine or phelephrine if you have high blood pressure without consulting your doctor

This is common cold produced by a variety of viruses. It's not flu. Nothing serious except that you need to hydrate yourself. Drink plenty of soup/broth. Chicken soup actually helps. Drink little by little. Try breathing into steam (just boil a large pot of water) and liquids + liquids. If you don't feel better in a couple of days, go to your MD. Benadryl OTC may help.

Sounds like a bad case of some kind of FLU... I'd be checking with my doctor.I f you don't feel any better the next 24 hours then go to the emergency room. It doesn't sound good and something like this does not go away by itself.

Sounds like the flu and congestion. But a doctor would be better at diagnosing.

That's cool that you're asking Y!A but I really hope you're planning on going to the doctor as well. That sounds like it could actually be pretty serious...?

Get to a DR ASAP!!! You're going to starve!
Go to the hospital where they can give you an IV and check you out.

all in general signs of a respiratory, or upper respiratory process. If no temp, prob a viral or environmental thing...push fluids, decongestants.
