Because heaven is obtainable on earth. It's not necessarily a place you go to, but a state of mind also.

Many well meaning religous people try to tell you that you have to do this or that to be right with God. But, in truth, if you just demand of God that he show Himself to you, then remain receptive, He will make good on His word.

No doubt about it, God cannot fail. Your life will change if you do this, outside influences will rush into your life and you will have the insight.

Just open your mind to it and let God do the rest.

I, too, am a Christian, and I've had the same questions. When they come up, that's when I feel it's time to get back to basics.
How do I know I serve the right God (or at least, the right God for me)?
1. Because of what God has done for me, and the changes that have been wrought in my life since I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.
2. Because of the miracles I've witnessed, which have been done after praying.
3. Because NO other religion I followed (I was Wiccan for several years) has filled the emptiness inside me. This also includes when I was an atheist.

There are more things that convince me that Christianity is EVERYTHING it professes to be, but those are the top three things.

My advice to you is to ask yourself why YOU believe. Is it archaeological evidence? Historical? The fact that you felt different when you became a Christian, if you did? Is it because God proved Himself to you?

Once you answer WHY you believe, and have put THOSE questions to rest, everything else falls into place.
I know that Jesus was not a liar, and that He was a real person. I know that the Apostles did not and WOULD NOT die in vain for something they knew to be a lie.
I know that Jesus's birth, life and death were all prophesied.
I know that Jesus was crucified, and that on the third day, His tomb was empty.
I know that Jesus's teachings are perfect.
And I know that ALL these things are possible through and because of God.

I hope you find the answers, as I did. I am convinced, though I can't prove it through concrete evidence, that there is a God, and that when I die, I will be in heaven with Him.

satan is always trying to put the 'what if's' into our thoughts....

ok, so what if it isnt true...... we live a life loving others and being kind and giving hope.... do we miss out on anything here on earth? absolutely not.... I know because I have been 'not christian' and did awful things in the past... (tho, some people still think those things are 'fun' or good or whatever) ... now that I am following Jesus, life is better and i have strength when things go wrong....

when I accepted Christ, I went thru a change... it wasnt just 'stating my belief'... it was as if a whole new heart was put within me and when the Holy Spirit entered my life, nothing ever was the same again....

there is no question that it is true and real.... Jesus IS the only way to the Father

I don't think it's a lie in the way that grownups telling you about the tooth fairy is a lie. They do it on purpose and know its not true.

I think its more a story that people genuinely believed at the time. Oral traditions handed down by the village elders - how lots of tribal people got their info - as the Jews built the OT. And Jesus' fame came about in a similar way. Just like Buddha, and Muhammad and Joseph Smith. Local celebs, who built a following and became deified as the religion went on.

And if it is true that its myth - what then? Will life become meaningless is we don't get to live forever in Superhappy Funland? Nope! My life is MORE meaningful because I don't have a "forever" to waste.

Even the apostles said that if any of the Gospel wasn't true, then it was a complete and utter waste.

Look, it's okay to question your beliefs. In fact, you should. Real confidence can only come from trusting in God, himself, and in the truth of His words. Then, you can study the bible on your own to find out what it says. Any preacher who contradicts the bible is a liar, and there are plenty of them out there.

Just go to the source, and don't put your trust in preachers and sunday-school teachers. Do your own study.

No Matt. You will not burn in hell for worshiping God. However, the Churches have been keeping the truth from the people for many hundred years.

You need to seek for yourself for that truth. And do not buy everything that comes out of the mouth of preachers and priests. Seek for yourself, and ask your God for directions.

And what happens when we are forced to do the wrong things to protect our family and to protect our nation...and at the very end we burn for our choices even though we were forced into it by his very hand...what happens when the sheppard leads the sheeps to slaughter...will he still love us if we choice to survive revolations or choice to live a better life? How can we Christians just follow blindly and not know all the truths.

To many questions with no answers

Don't listen to the devil. If you read the bible and learn the true nature of God, you have nothing to worry about. Many have died trying to preserve the word of God throughout the years because God wants us to have the truth.

I have always wondered what everyone will do when we get where ever we are going and talk to who ever we talk to and they say Hey guess what? You were all right! All the blood and judgement and wars and death...yup all for nothing. Congratulations." So I just accept we all have a point and follow my own soul. As long as you aren't hurting anyone, who cares??
