He's running a team in the Inday Racing League.

Foyt runs an IRL team, while he is a Daytona 500 champion, he focuses his time in the IRL. Gotta figure he knows a lot more about that than he does Nascar.

I think honestly it just got too political in NASCAR, but he does have 2 drivers driving for him this year in the IRL series; Darren Manning and Al Unser, Jr.
AJ does know what it takes to win, but he doesn't play all of the games that are ruining racing.

His NASCAR team was always second fiddle to his IRL teams. He has multiple teams there and they are his principle operation.
