Providing keys to commercially licensed software products is illegal.

If you don't want to pay for software, I certainly understand. A viable alternative to MS-Office is OpenOffice. It's completely free and provides most of the functionality of MS-Office including the ability to create, read and edit MS-Office documents.

I maintain a site for my clients that lists a whole bunch of free software including OpenOffice.

You can find it here: http://www.gara.com/freesoftware

Open Office is under the Productivity Apps section.

The key, or "product key," is the identification number Microsoft uses to verify that you are trying to install legitimate, purchased software.

It is normally found on a sticker on the plastic case protecting the CD. This product key has to be entered when you install and activate the software. You must activate within 30 days.

MS has added more steps to prevent piracy. If anyone tries to install a copy, they will promptly be advised that the CD is not legitimate.

If you purchased it, then you should be able to find the CD key on the CD case. Look on the back.

If you didn't purchase it and you want somebody to give you a CD key, then you are out of luck...sorry.

Each disc has unique key. The key should have been included with your package. It is important to find it because I do not think Microsoft will provide you with a replacement.

If you can't purchase it, then go for free substitutes. You can get OpenOffice, which is free and includes everything that MS-Office has. It also supports and can create MS-Office application formats.
