Rules for Foreigners
This is unreal. Maybe we should adopt some of these rules. Harsh you say?
1. There will be no special bilingual programs in the schools, no special ballots for elections, and all government business will be conducted in our language.
2. Foreigners will not have the right to vote, no matter how long they are here.
3. Foreigners will never be able to hold political office.
4. Foreigners will not be a burden to the taxpayers. No welfare, no food stamps, no health care or any other government assistance programs.
5. Foreigners can invest in this country, but it must be an amount equal to 40,000 times the daily minimum wage.
6. If foreigners come and want to buy land that will be OK, but options will be restricted. They are not allowed to own waterfront property. That property is reserved for citizens naturally born into this country.
7. Foreigners may not protest; no demonstrations, no waving a foreign flag, no political organizing, no "bad-mouthing" our president or his policies. If they do, they will be sent home.
8. If they come to this country illegally, they will be hunted down and sent straight to jail.
Harsh, you say?
The above laws happen to be the immigration laws of Mexico.
When it comes to immigration issues in American, it doesn't seem to matter who you vote for (Rep.or Dem.), both seem to do very little about the problem. We should have immiration laws in America as Mexico does. As the old saying goes, what's good for the goose is good for the gander!

I can understand your outrage. You feel your flag (therefore your national pride) is insulted. A similar thing happened in Cyprus some years ago. An extremist Greek Cypriot climbed up the flagpole to take down the Turkish flag. He was warned and then shot dead. At that time the US and other western countries said it was just a piece of cloth; not worth to kill someone!
To get back to your problem with the immigrants (illegal). It is very wrong to put up your flag above the flag of that country. It is very wrong to enter a country illegally and/or work illegally.
On the other hand, some of you are saying they should fight to make their countries a better place to live in. They tried to do that. In the 50s, 60s, 70s Latina American people tried to change the status quo in their countries. They were always suppressed by dictators (backed up by Washington). Have you ever heard of the expression 'banana republic'? They have been exploited by US based (some international) companies while Washington manipulated and controlled their political leaderships. The back garden of the US, as it was called, had to be clean. It is a known fact that in those years CIA played a lot of dirty games in Latin America.
I say these, just trying to explain the situation. Do not think that I am advocating their actions, nor do I believe in immigration of this kind. One can only be happy in one's own country. If one chooses to live in another country, he/she has to respect the laws and ways there. On the other hand, 'Americans' should show more respect to different cultures, colors, and religions, and stop acting as if the whole of USA is 'wasp'.
I would like to conclude with something that happened about a decade ago in London UK. There was a riot/demonstration by black people in the city. It all turned out to be violent in the end unfortunately. At that riot, an African was carrying a banner which read: WE ARE HERE BECAUSE YOU WERE THERE!
Peace be with you all.

It's a disgrace and if they are wanting people to listen and understand them, they are really going about things the wrong way. Stuff like this only alienates most people. They are ILLEGALS, self explanatory word, and as such, they aren't entitiled to the rights that those of us who are citizens are entitled to. What makes them think they have the right to do things like this? They won't have to protest anything if they go about things according to law. Obviously, someone is organizing these protests and rallies here, why don't they do the same in Mexico and start making demands for some changes to be made there?

If the are so proud of their country then why are they here? They need to stop trying to invade the us, they are not entitled to civil rights, they are not civilians. They need to pack it up go home and change the laws in their own country not ours. Freedom was fought for in every country that has it, if they want it they must fight for it. Damn it just doesn't make sense. If you got Mexico pride... rally to make Mexico something to be proud of. Don't piggy back on the blood of our fathers, men have died for our freedom, Our flag represents that. No one should ever disgrace that. If the really want to know what it's like to be an US citizen, stand beside the men who fight in it's honor, stand beside a defender of FREEDOM. Hey then if they they are willing to do that here why not in their own country? If freedom is what they want? Then why don't they fight this hard in their own country for change?

I agree with you. My ancestors also came here via Ellis Island, learned English, and assimilated in order to better themselves, others should do the same or stay where they are.

I understand your concern but look I'm from a country that is part of USA but not a state so where USA citizen, if you ask me why we put our flag beside the American ones, is because that is our indent that the different between my country and USA, and that is part of us as the American flag, is our pride, is our root, over here I have my flag everywhere in my car and in my house because that What I'm even where part of USA and USA citizens, and I came over here for look for a better live, and I live the American way, I still been where I from, that dint change if I reget my roots is like to reget myself. I dont think there something wrong to put theri flag eside the American one, but is they step on them or burn it tht other thing

i think that was the way of impress their anger against the seperation, racist opinions, getting to see as an immigrant and second class all the time... what they did is wrong... if Americans can recognise the different cultures in USA, and accept them what ever religion or color they are, these problems will be finished....
