Why do religious people teach their children Creation when they themselves know its a lie?

And how do you know that THEY "know" it's a lie? Also, how do YOU know it's a lie? It can't be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt, either way.
I imagine that the religious teach their children their religion for the same reason ALL parents teach their children their own opinions: Because it's THEIR children, and they have a right to teach them whatever they want, so long as it doesn't harm their children, or cause their children to harm anyone else.

Teaching your children that creationism is a fact should be considered child abuse. Welcome to atheism. It's nice to see people using the power of reason and rational thought!

To the person above me, my brother-in-law, a Christian missionary teaches creation to his children, and teaches them that every word in the Bible is the literal truth.
