That is a very good question! They probably believe that this is the America from 50 years ago. Where you worked hard and could live the American Dream. This country is over run with so many problems at the present time that I'm afraid things will only get worse here.

Come to Canada - we have so MANY more career opportunities than they do in the US Sunbelt.
You can be a hockey player - a skier - as ski instructor - a snow shoveller - a snowplow operator - an avalanche rescue worker - an avalanche prevention engineer - a figure skater - an ice fisher - a curler - a hockey referee - a hockey announcer - a curling announcer - a figure skating judge - that guy who has to replace the flags knocked over by the skiers - zamboni driver - paramedic specializing in separating kids' frozen tongues from flagpoles - a snowflake analyst - a snow sculpure artist - the bus driver who says "cold enough for ya?" to every passenger - the paramedic specializing in removing bus drivers from snow banks - the firefighter guy who has to keep the hoses from freezing - the bodyguards keeping the weathermen safe from death threats during cold snaps - the guy who replaces thermometers that break from getting too cold....

Because you are guaranteed life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. You are not guaranteed happiness, only the pursuit of it - let's get that straight right now. Many other nations allow for local and regional governments to have more of a controlling role in individual peoples lives, such as trying to start a business and requiring permission of the local government to do so (excluding professional licensing) or social class systems that supposedly don't exist.

Without being really supportive of the American government at all, it's easy to see - immigrants can become American pretty quickly. The children of immigrants can be as Chinese/Italian/Saudi/European, etc as they want, or they can be 100% American.
No other country affords as much integration as America. No other country has so few cultural considerations, either!

Are you kidding me? Hearing questions like these I often wonder what the future of this country is going to be.
The US is the land of the free and provides ANYONE with the opportunity to find a better life. We have the largest economy in the world and combine that with a free and open society and you have the recipe for success.
