I think i need depression pills, i'm 19 years old and i don't know..i see everybody else all day laughing and smiling and having a good time and i just can't help but like at them with envy...it's so stupid because i have friends, and a boyfriend, and a job...i'm just so dissatisfied with my life compared to others, i want to have that fun life and where i'll just go out and do everything, you know be spontaneous...but i just can't because i always hold myself back, life just seems so boring to me...i am a fun person, i'm just so anti-social sometimes and let possible friends slip me by......i don't know...i think i need depression pills are something, or maybe just a good energy drink to pep my life up a little

ask yourself of what it might be missing in your life. maybe your priority to the things in life is not as ordinary as the others. remember what was the last thing that made you happiest . maybe you are a creative soul . and if you do not have the right job that maybe makes you suffering.
you are still so young . if the job that you are doing is not giving you the satisfaction believe me nothing in the world can .
or make a radical change like moving ... or try to read about things that bothers you or that you can not stand to. you know things that you never tried can make a change. and AND pray for the things that you have...to the mind that you were given and for your friends and family and all that you treasure.
Do not ever talk big ...Might bring you to the worst...And in the end " Is just a matter of time" do not take pills or what so ever...I believe that is has to be something that is related to your age.

I don't know about the pills. Sometimes if you could just talk to someone about how you are feeling is a big help. I personally would never want to be 16-21 again. So much pressure from peers and family and so many decisions to make that affect the rest of your life, no wonder you are depressed. Talking to someone will help. If that does not help, you can try the pills. Not everyone is as happy as you think they are either. Sometimes when you have the blues, others being happy is exagerated a bit. Hope this helps.

I'm not sure that pills or an energy drink will affect your shyness. What you are describing seems to be a pattern of behaviour and like other patterns of behaviour can be changed with a little effort.

The first step is the realization that you wish to change. You seem to have this, so I think you might be well on your way. You may do well just talking it over with some of your friends.

If you are finding it difficult you might benefit from the help of a counsellor.

Sometimes talking to a therapist can help you sort things out. They don't neccessarily have the need to medicate everyone that comes through their doors but they will assess the need. Somestimes you may view yourself as anti-social when actuality you may simply be an introvert (one that keeps top themselves). You sound like others do like you because you have a boyfriend and job. It takes some good social skills to keep them. My only suggestion is talk to a therapist through your family doctor or ask your school counselor. If the school counselor can't help they will most likely give you some referrals.

You do not need depression pills, you need to adjust your way of thinking. Try telling yourself all the good things that you do instead of dwelling on the bad, you can be whomever you want, if your life is boring its because you make it boring, it may take baby steps to get you out of your shell but take them, try new things, life is to short to be depressed. Stay off the pills or drinks there only bandaids to problems which you yourself can cure

Anti-depressants do help, but you should seriously go talk to a shrink. It's not just for crazy people, its actually a good way to say everything on your mind without having to worry about what the peron thinks. If you see a psychiatrist instead of a therapist, he can prescribe anti-depressants if he feels that you need them. Best wishes.
