Genetics, it is all under the control of the genes.
Without the Revlon's, Clairol's and the other modern hair and skin care products and routines most folk would fall into the same category.

thats not true at all im black & i have a nice grade of hair some black people has coarse hair while others dont. actually there hair isnt dry at all if anything black use more chemicals in there hair to prevent it from getting dry. it depends on the hair grade not the race cause ive seen some nappy heads in other races to

not all african americans people have nappy hair and not all african americans have dry hair..if it is dry and nappy then it's becuse their not making an effort to do their hair..next time think b4 you post sumthing as dumb as this....and how will any answer benifit you.. plus your very ignorant look how you wrote the question. you should check your grammer!!

its curly (thats what naps are tight curls) and the hair that is produced through the scalp cant make it to the roots or the hair shaft like someone with oily hair (which is usually those with straight hair). the less curlier it is the more oil the hair strand itself recieves. thats why we cant wash out hair everyday because its not oily as are those with straight hair. it would take us 1-2 weeks for our heads to get oily and thats when we wash it. hope that helps
