Tell the truth & she will either believe you or not. If she doesn't believe you there is not much you can do so unless you confront the other person & tape it & the other person admits she lied, or you have witnesses that know what happened.

All you can do is explain to her that you didn't say it and if she don't believe you then you can't do nothing about it as long as you know you didn't say it but continue to be friends and everything will be OK and a real best friend can tell weather or not if you are lying but true friend will eventually get over of what was said or done by their best friend

I know whats you mean as i have been in the same situtation and its really horrible especally if your telling the truth. My advice is tell her you didnt do it if she still doesnt believe you then just let it blow over. The person that told her that is stiring stuff and is jealous of your friendship. If you best friend trusts you she'll eventually believe you wouldnt say that stuff about her but it might take a whilie. If not she aint worth the bother xxx

Tell her that you are sorry that she was given false info and that you two are best friends so she should know you better than that. Tell her, next time something like this happens, she should come to you because you will always be honest with her.

just confront them about why they lied in the first place. you can tell that person that its not true.
