My teens have loved this for at least ten years. It's so easy and so much fun to watch rise and fall.
Dutch Babies (a breakfast food--like a soufle)
preheat oven to 425 degrees
Keep a pair of oven mitts handy
4 eggs
1 cup milk
1 cup flour
1/2 stick butter
1 juicy lemon (or two not-so-juicy)
confectioner's sugar to taste (1/4 to 1/2 cup, I'd guess)
Mix first three ingredients in a blender until smooth.
Divide butter between two 8" or 9" round cake pans and set them in the preheated oven to melt. (Watch it melt--if you turn away it will burn!) Using the oven mitts, remove the pans just before the butter completely melts.
Pour half the batter in each pan and, using the oven mitts, place the pans in the oven for 10 to 15 minutes. (You won't believe how big they get!)
Remove, with oven mitts, when golden brown and squeeze half the lemon on each and sprinkle with confectioner's sugar.
Cut them like a pie and serve them up. Eat them. Yum!
(This is a great recipe to do after a sleepover--they are just so cool to see when they are all blown up and almost as much fun to watch deflate. If you hit them with the lemon juice when they're right out of the oven you can hear them sizzle as they deflate and use the wicked witch's voice and say, "I'm melting, melting...melting!!!")

Here's an easy one, take the biscuits in a can and roll them so they are about 6x6" then take a slice of cheese lay on top. Then roll a hot dog in it bake it and serve. Pretty tasty with the right hot dogs. Or how about a cony pizza? Take a pizza dough and instead of pizza sauce, you use bean-less hot dog chili. Slice hot dogs and place around the dough like pepperoni. Cover with shredded cheese maybe some onion or mustard lines and bake. Very tasty pizza. Okay one last one this is pretty good too. It's called tater tot casserole. Brown and season one pound ground beef. Lay that in a baking pan like 9x12. Cover over beef with frozen tater tots. Then take one can cream of mushroom soup and half can of milk mix it and pour over tater tots. Bake in oven for and hour then add shredded cheese bake an additional half hour or until cheese is melted and serve. The soup may be adjusted to size of serving if doubling recipe.

I purchased Pillsbury Kids Cookbook for my 7 year old. She loves to make recipes out of it. Some recipes require adult assistance, but most are super easy. Not only do the recipes have the ingredient list they also have a tools needed list.
