Jupitere,
The person would be a Deist since they believe in GOD. They should do a little exploration to find which rel;igion, if any, that they do fit into. I am a Christian. Have a great week.
Thank you,
Eds

.
EDIT:
Some of these people do not understand the question or are "Off in Space". Agnostics are not certain whether they believe in GOD. Presbyterians believe in Jesus. Jewish believe in the GOD of Abraham as do the Christians. Jesus was a Jew. Hinduism has a rather different set of beliefs that their relatives come back to earth as animals. They do not eat cattle or pigs.

AfroWoman,
Belief in self over GOD is a satanistic ideal. His words are a LIE. I would like to study with you the WORD of GOD some day.
Thanks,
Eds

Break out of the duealist mindset. Religion is not "black & white"

I've heard people claim that "A religion without a Goddess is 1/2 way to Athiesm".

Someone who believes in "God" (not necessarily the X-ian God) still has a belief system. Just not a Christian one.

You could call the person a monotheist.

Such a man is mentioned in Acts 10. He later becomes a Christian.

There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian [band],

Act 10:2 [A] devout [man], and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway.

The person who believes only in God but not in Jesus or the various bibles and other religious books is called a Deist. He prays only to God and not through any organized religion, or church. He/she speaks directly to God without the interference of others. God is in his heart....always and he doesn't need a Church to remind him that God is there.

The most likely answer is a deist. Accepting a higer divine being but not believing the Bible is the word of God.

A Nazarene or Gnostic.

Such a person believes in God, believes in respect of all things, believes in the sanctity of life, are often vegetarians and above all respect wisdom of all religions that show a connection to life and making the world a better place.

Jesus was a Nazarene. He helped found the sect, a break away from Essene traditions along with his apostles.

Sadly, his message was corrupted by the Sadducees and Paul of Tarsus whoc formed christianity as a counter movement and created the Bible (including the New Testament) as we know it.

Well, anyone will do, but you have to realize then that you don't in fact worship "God". You are committing IDOLATRY (see Decalouge) whenever you exchange the truth of God for a lie and put someone or something before God. So, you could choose, say "Doritos" right now, to bow down and worship before their cheesy-goodness and it's no different to God than worshipping Satan himself.

Theists (also called deists) are people who believe in a god without specifying which one. Monotheists, believe in one god. A-theists ("a" being the Greek prefix for "not") don't believe there is one at all.
