I had a friend who switched from methadone to suboxone. She simply wanted to get off the methadone. However, she's also a chronic pain patient. She told me that her doctor ordered her to be free from methadone for 72 hours before she took her first dose of suboxone. She tried the suboxone for one month, and switched back to methadone. She said the suboxone was good for helping detox from methadone, but it didn't relieve her pain like methadone.

If your friend wants to try the suboxone, she should do so with medical instruction and supervision.

if your friend is still getting pain in her legs i would say that the methadone dose isn't high enough, suboxone as you call it r u in the us if so the alternative to meth in the UK [where I'm from] is called subotex .being an x addict myself i have never tried subotex but all who i have spoke to say it is great easier to get off than meth but finding the correct dose of any substitute is the key i hope he/she succeds.
