somehow you equate disliking a sin as hate.... i don't 'follow a book' as you seem to think my relationship with Jesus Christ is. It goes beyond just 'the book'... and until you have been baptized in the Holy Spirit, no one can understand it.
I will not 'respect and honor' something like homosexuality, because it is not a normal trait, nor is pedophilia, rape, murder, lieing, stealing, etc. those things are things that happen when the flesh of us takes over the soul of us and not only becomes our focus, but our addiction.
thankfully, I am not 'religious' and i don't have a 'religious' agenda.... I love my brothers and sisters who have difficulties in certain areas of life... but I will share with them the Love of Christ and how He can help make life even better

I am a christian, I do not hate anyone no matter what they are.
But I do hate sin even my own sins and homosexuality is a sin. When anyone is right in what they do in Gods eyes they don't need to try and convince the world they are right and Gods word is wrong and Gods word always is the same he is a never changing God, he don't change because he is perfect in all his ways, so his word is not outdated!
You can never convince ones that follow God that any sin is OK and even if you did, It would not matter because it's not OK with God. If you convinced everyone in the world that there is no God, That still won't make it true he is there and will always be there and his word is the truth and will always be. No matter how many people agree or disagree with God won't change who or what God is. I as a follower of Jesus will live and die by his word no man will change that, what happens to me in this life time dose not matter the only thing that will ever matter to me is what I have to answer for when I come before my King.Jesus loved me enough to die for my sins when he did nothing wrong and I love him enough to except his word and his will.

i think of all prejudice of any sort is erroneous, which includes against religious human beings and traditionalists.. i know very few religious people who hate gay human beings or advise violence against them.. Heck not all people approves of me being a christian! Why do christians would desire to approve of each and every thing.. besides the undeniable fact that, it does irk me that homosexuality is almost held out as a extra grievous sin. reality is none are suited, i.e. all are 'sinners'/imperfect/unsuitable which seeing via fact the deity if there be you will in basic terms be existence itself and perfection.. nicely, flawdom is what makes the international and existence the imperfection that's.. in that thinking ability consists of determination/loose will.. however the religious message is, that's been fastened.. Now christians are to have one rule.. love. Love others and enable the deity do something.. seeing the deity can in basic terms be suited, the end results of all this would in basic terms be the excellent 'end' result feasible... - "maximum clergy of all religions are secretly gay"? that could qualify as extremely a sweeping stereotype.. and would additionally be somewhat outrageous..

I would like to say that homosexual behavior is a sin however Christians are not suppose to judge the person who is being deceived, but rather h*te the sin, since we are called not to judge or we too will be judged (Matthew 7:1). We need to separate the sin from the sinner. I have two Bible verses that you should read even if you think they are outdated- Times may have changed, but the Truth of God lives forever, regardless of what people think.
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the s*xually immoral nor idolaters nor *dulterers nor male pr0situtes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
Romans 1:24-26-
Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to s*xual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen. Because of this, God gave them over to shameful l*sts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones.
Most Christians need to remember that they also are sinners and no sin is greater than another. Since we are all sinners that is why we all need a Savior. We all were Once alienated from God and were enemies in our minds because of our evil behavior (Colossians 1:21).
The problem with most Christians is that they only use the Book when it is convenient for them to do so and don't actually live it themselves, therefore they are not Christians, but rather hipocrates.
Isaiah 5:20
Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.

You are painting with tooo broad of a brush stroke .Plus you are not tell truths in your statement.
1st NOT ALL Christians hate homosexuals in fact they would be going against God's word if they hated the person !
2nd Modern science has never made such a statement. Science would have nothing to do with such things.
3rd There is NO justification of such sexual crimes in the New Testament!
4th Love is never outdated. Jesus told us to love God and man with all out hearts..strength
All one has to do is line a male and female up and one clearly understands male is made for female and vise versa
Also there is something inherently wrong when a act ends a life line in the first generation.
EVERY study out PROVES the healthy environment for the child is in a stable male/female household.
Your really need to get your "new consciousness" into reality

I truly wish that people who mention Christians doing this or that, or hating this or that would say "some Christians". Because when you say "Christians" you include me and you really don't know me or how I feel about a lot of things.
Now, to answer your question. The Bible says that homosexuality is an abomination to God. God created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve, or Eve and Evelyn. There was a reason for this. If you don't believe in God, then we have no basis for argument. But if you do not understand anything else, understand this: God forgives sin. I do not hate homosexuals. I do not understand them, but I do not hate them.God does not hate homosexuals, He might hate their lifestyle, but He gave His only Son to die upon a cruel cross that everyone, homosexuals included, might have everlasting life. I hope, with love, I have answered your question.

What is this new consciousness? Is it something thought up by gays to justify their behaviour? All species have a natural desire to mate to keep that species going otherwise it obviously dies out. Therefore on that basis alone homosexuality is against nature and the natural world. What people do in the privacy of their lives is up to them but they should not endeavour to impose themselves or flaunt themselves on other people.

You are absolutely right. everyone has the right to be with whoever they want, love should be a thing that is celebrated, regardless of who you fall in love with. Just as we look back at the 1950s, and the backwards way in which women were treated, I'm sure that in the near future, when Christianty has hopefuly become obselete, people will look back and marvel at the unjust discrimination of that corrupt religion.

Dear Ex -- right on. This persecution of people who are "different" is a cultural thing, and a lot of ancient, ill informed, superstitious or just plain mean things have been enshrined in ancient religious texts. In my own native culture, Hawaiian, homosexuals were accepted openly and with love . . . until the Christian missionaries arrived and informed all us poor ignorant savages how wrong such unconditional love is.
I am Buddhist (duh) and Buddha taught many paths to liberation from suffering, understanding that one size does not fit all when it comes to spirituality. Accordingly the Buddhist view on sexuality is consistent with the wish to not cause suffering -- avoid sexual misconduct which causes suffering to others. If you and your partner are happy and harming no one then straight, gay, lesbian, bisexual and other labels just don't matter.

First of all, our bible is not outdated, Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today & forever, & Our so call out of date book you refer to, says in the last days, they will call EVIL, good, & GOOD, evil That is just what you have done, Now you want to think our book is outdated, then why did God destroy Sodom & Gomorred, everyone in those cities was not gay or lesbians, But they went along with those people lifestyle. So don't think that this generation is the only one that was faced with gays & lesbians, Therefore I find you yourselve fullfilling the scriptures right now, Because you want us Christians, to accept something that has been a sin since creation, sorry, It is still a sin today & you are one of many that is trying to convince Christians that it is OK, You are 37 yrs. too late to change my Faith.
