My husband and I are expecting our first child. We have chosen the first name of Mitchell for a boy, and our last name is Alexander. Therefore the child's name will be Mitchell (middle name) Alexander. We need help finding a cool middle name. We do not want something that is a typical name-- like Robert or Bradley, because my husband claims that we don't want to curse the kid with "three first names".
My husband jokingly said that we need to use a random word; and suggested "Volcano". I think this is pretty stupid, but as we begin continuously joking about it, it is actually sounding more and more appealing. We imagine the kid being proud of his wierd middle name, especially since the child might have red hair. Well, anyway...
What better suggestions do you have for a middle name?

Daisy what the problem is here is that "Mitchell" is more the middle name. John Mitchell Alexander, Kevin Mitchell Alexander, So I would suggest - either the random word or a middle name that is a last name - what was your maiden name? -- It could be Mitchell Swanson Alexander or whatever your maiden name was - this too would impress the heck out of your family. Plus it would sound good.

Mitchell Alison Alexander? ;) Nah, girly...problem is, Mitchell is not a name that fits well with middle names.
Could try something mythological?
Or Irish, being a redhead.
Here are my suggestions:
Mitchell Avalon Alexander (After Avalon, the magical island)
Mitchell Gawain Alexander (After Sir Gawain in Arthurian Literature)
Mitchell Halwyn Alexander (Means Salt, and is anotehr Arthurian name)
Mitchell Aki Alexander (Means Autumn. Japanese)
Mitchell Anguis Alexander (Mean Dragon/Serpent)
Mitchell Haimon Alexander (Means Blood)
Mitchell Dracul Alexander (Dragon name, Romanian)
Mitchell Tatsuya Alexander (Means "Becoming the Dragon and possessing its wisdom and longtivity". Japanese)
Mitchell Duan Alexander (Serbian name meaning Soul)
Hope this helps!

Since this is totally up to you to decide...I guess any answer could be correct. So I cast my vote for Ashton. Mitchell is a strong boy's name...I like it. I kinda think that Mitchell Ashton Alexander sounds rather regal. Hey it's spells out - MAA. Hopefully he says Mama first, but they never do...it's always "Da-Da." Shucks!
Best of luck with that new son. Congrads. I have a red-headed son...poor kid was always called "carrot top" growing up. All 6'5" of him, as he stands today.

Celebs do this all the time. I think Gwenyth Paltrow named her daughter Apple. That's cute, eh! lol
Frank Zappa named his kids Moon Unit and Dweezle.
Penn Jillette named his kid Moxie Crimefighter.
Check out these links and look at the weird names. It's ok to go with a weird name, hun! Congrats on the new baby!

If you want something a bit out of the ordinary, how about Stone, River, Ridge or something along those lines?
If your son has red hair, I'll be sooo jealous, lol. My 3 brothers have red hair, but of course, I don't, and I was hoping my kids would have red hair but don't.

try something that means something to you. Maybe a family member's name, a landmark or city that you like(d) (mine's Savannah, after the GA city).
its nice to have a unique but not random middle name.
good luck!
