You didn't post a question, but I can tell you've I've gotten notices too for saying the same thing to kids who want to be spoon-fed their answers. Apparently when you don't give the info they want, but encourange them to actually LEARN themselves, it's a violation because you made no attempt to provide the information they requested.
Reply to the notice (it tells you how) and explain your reasoning. Yahoo may or may not agree, but you can at least point out that while the child may not have found your response helpful, it didn't violate TOS or Community Guidelines and thus you should not lose points or risk your account over it.
Good luck! (and perhaps other categories would be more safe for you...I quit peeking in the homework ones much because other people regurgitating answers for kids is disappointing....they are they next generation to lead/run this world... *sigh*

I would not let it get to me if I was you. While I certainly understand how frustrating and upsetting it can be when Yahoo Answers simply deducts 2 points away from you and automatically deletes your answer without so much as a legitimate reason other than a even more infuriating “Violation Notice” email which tells you nothing. You have to keep in mind that the scenario most likely went like this: this kid was probably upset that you would not give him the answer to his homework question so that he would not have to actually do it himself, so therefore, in spite, he just likely reported you. Then, because Yahoo Answers is run more by machines than by actual people who take the time to listen and interact with you – the computer just takes the report request, deletes your question without checking for any validity in the person’s claim and then sends you a rinky-dink email that you are at fault.
This still happens to me all the time and I used to get just as annoyed and angry as you are right now. Especially when *real* honest Yahoo Answer contributors like you and myself are here giving good, honest answers, while other immature Trolls run rampant and free! I would think, “This is not fair! Does anyone else find this crazy!?” However, just do as I do and come here to enjoy the questions, people and answers and do not worry so much about the points or the few answers/questions they take away from you here and there. Once something huge happens like it becomes a place know for academic dishonesty, then perhaps the Answers Team will pay more attention when the public/schools/government gets involved, but until then us little guys mean very little to them.

I blocked the only individual who pronounced that they theory it became right into a violation and had different clientele assure me that it became into not. I study over the area approximately solicitation which became into needless to say framed to rule out people who're merchandising something and appealed and became into denied. I pronounced that i had not income reason. merely FYI i might in no way have stated all people for asking a query approximately Darwinism or athieism, or the different group. I certainly have given superb answer to a wiccan on certainly one of my questions and a Muslim, becuase they needless to say had the excellent answer. I help the main suitable of all people right here to ask a deferential question from thier point of view. i'm saddened to study what others right here have been stated for it sort of feels advise lively. i theory with the recent warnings approximately reporting too lots or calmly human beings ought to get in difficulty and it might cease a number of this. yet curiously not.

Don't fret. There are tons of morons on YA that deserve notices and quite frankly put off for good.
Dont' leave because an idiot was told the right thing to do!
He/she should do their own homework anyway.
I have noticed alot of questions lately - obvious homework questions.
Maybe we should start reporting them...LMAO

Don't stress yourself out....
anyone can report anyone else which will cause them to receive a violation notice.
This is one of the faults with YA, is that there is no investigation into the validity of these reports, the violation notice is probably computer generated anyway, so it's programmed to send them.
