A witness wouldn't be offended. That is something you find in Christendom. They would merely ask to be excused from the performance. If you're going to makeup a lie, you should study first with JWs to know what you're talking about. I was in the choir in high school.

1st is the issue of 'church and state'
a gospel song is equal to prayer with music.
If it is wrong for a teacher to lead a class in prayer, then it is wrong to sing that prayer.
2nd is that Jehovah never accepted 'mixed' worship.
(Exodus 32:3-4) . . .. 4 Then he took [the gold] from their hands, and he formed it with a graving tool and proceeded to make it into a molten statue of a calf. And they began to say: “This is your God, O Israel, who led you up out of the land of Egypt.”
Most gospel music is directed to Jesus as part of a trinity.
The trinity is not taught in the bible:
The New Catholic Encyclopedia states: “The formulation ‘one God in three Persons’ was not solidly established, certainly not fully assimilated into Christian life and its profession of faith, prior to the end of the 4th century. But it is precisely this formulation that has first claim to the title the Trinitarian dogma. Among the Apostolic Fathers, there had been nothing even remotely approaching such a mentality or perspective.”—(1967), Vol. XIV, p. 299.
Did you notice the 1st Century Christians had nothing even remotely approaching the idea of a trinity.
I hope this helps

i'm a musician and that i've got performed at numerous JW events, and that i became into cautioned to not PLAY any gospel songs. i theory that style of odd, yet i'm an entertainer and could cater to the events request. besides the undeniable fact that, this extremely puzzled me, a christian employer that would not want christian music.

Hi. I was in Choir in high school and i am one of Jehova's witnesses. In choir, holiday songs were sang and gospels as well. I just simply did not sing and excused myself from singing songs that bothered my conscience. We only sing praises to Jehovah and any gospels/songs praising other than Jehovah--- we don't sing it.

We have NO problem with music. Your best bet is to find out what in/about the song was offensive to the girl. There are good and bad songs, per view point, in most/all genres of music.
As for the person who said we used to have problems with Black people, not sure why someone started this rumor on Y!A but it is not true.

There is nothing wrong with gospel music. JWs think its from "Satan" or something. My father is a musician, and I grew up with music in my life daily.
Some of the old testament books were sung, not spoken. Gospel comes from close knit family units which was Gods original foundation of His Government.
