Becaue in todays world that is the last innocence they will have, and once it is gone, they can never get it back....
you can quit smoking
you can quit drinking
you can quit drungs......
even though you can surgically have your hymen put back in place, you are still never going to be a vigin EVER again :)

before marrige !!
i think they do not cry...they are faking...
but after marrige.
virgins cry because after all these years covering there..aha.. haha.. at last they meet there chance to became real WOMEN. and feel the joy of being A GOOD GIRLS.

There r two reasons. First is the rupture of hymen (the membrane which covers vagina) and bleeding associated with it. Second is the sudden stretching of the vaginal walls and pain associated with it (since vagina is not used to accomodate this big thing that comes inside it).
