1. Have you ever told a lie?
2...Have you ever stolen anything?
3. Have you ever lusted after someone who is not your spouse? Jesus said if you look upon a woman in lust you have committed adultery.
4. Most people would have to admit they are liars---possibly thieves---and most are adulterous.
So much for being good.
We all have flaws, and make mistakes
In Christ we have a savior who gave Himself in our place, so that we would not be judged by our sins, but by His righteousness.
Many unbelievers will not agree---I respect your views, but I hope you can appreciate that I view none of us as any better than anyone else. Agree?

I am unrighteous but now i am righteous through JESUS.

Romans 3:10[kjv]As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

2 Corinthians 5:21[kjv]For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

James2:10For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
11For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law. [verses taken from kjv]

John 3:16[kjv] For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

so when we believe in JESUS we have eternal life.JESUS lived a sinless life and gave up his life as a sacrifice so we can be sin free. Ask JESUS to come into your heart and forgive ur sins and cleanse ur past with his blood.

With a simple prayer like above u can be saved.JESUS loves u and wants u to be saved.

Ok, since I'm a very honest person (now that I'm all grown up) I will tell you the truth. :)

1. Yup. Especially when I was in the tweens and teens!
2. Ummm yes. Once when I was like 4 or 5 - a little mint from the counter by the cashier. My mom caught me and made me go back and return it! Then when I was about 16 my friend and I stole a carton of smokes from a local mom and pop grocery. Didn't get caught and of course we thought that was awesome.
3. Well I certainly haven't looked upon a woman, but I have lusted after a man before. I'm human. :) Prophet Muhammad(saws) was asked about this once and he said it's a sin if one actually looks a second time (i.e. you look first and admire the person and then you look again).

I am judged according to my sins and I take full accountability for them. But Allah has stated so many many times that He is All Merciful and All Forgiving, and we could not possibly comprehend how much He is so because it's thousands and thousands of times more than our own mothers. We rely on the Mercy of Allah Almighty to go to heaven. We try to live according to how we were taught in the Quran and the Prophet's life (using his experience to learn from) and we week perfection even though we know we are not and Allah knows as well.
I can certainly appreciate that others are different from myself. I don't push my views on others since I honestly do not feel the need to. I seek to educate others if they don't get the facts straight about my religion, or if they ask. NO ONE is any better than anyone else. We are all beautiful creations of Allah Almighty and we His most favored out of everything He has made. :)

lied, yes, certainly. i doubt there are many among us who have never lied. i'm not sure there are any over the age of ten.

stolen; no , not that i know of, and i'd remember if i did.

adultery, no not in the technical sense. in the sense you give, pretty much the entire adult population of this planet would be guilty of that, but i do not believe that's adultery. that's human.

i don't think those are the lines for judging a good person.

i view none of us as any better than anyone else, unless someone has given me a conclusive reason not to respect him like any other. for example if i found a serial rapist i would certainly consider him beneath others. besides something like that, i say we're all equal. we're all human.

but i don't see what a sacrifice of christ's has to do with it.

But the original sin issue is also dragged into the whole God story, where does that fit in your story.

And yes, I have lied, I have stolen, and I have been an adulterer. But that doesn't make me any likelier to believe in any god(s). Is this "argument from sin"?

It just tells me that human nature is not as noble as we would like it to be.

And yes, I still maintain that I am a good person. If I look at my life I have done more good than bad.

(1) i have never been a liar...even my mother will tell you this, as a child i would always tell the truth even if it meant a hiding was comming!
(2)I have NEVER stolen
(3) No i have not ever been unfaithfull
(4) No No &NO
And No i do not agree with you, if thats what you want to tell your sorry christian A** then go ahead but i do not need to lie to myself!
I am a good person, and i became a good person all on my own( with a little help from mum&dad!!) No god scared me into being a good person, unlike most christians, who only seem to be good at pretending!
So NO I do not agree with you.

Paul rightly said that none are good. that is why we have the blood of Jesus. God will only allow those covered by the blood to enter heaven because he cannot look upon sin. Heaven is a sinless place. Were people of the Old Testament saved---yes. God instituted the ritual of blood sacrifice so that the Jews could be saved. Certainly the prophets were saved, for why would God give his word through them and not allow them into heaven? Certainly the justly appointed priests were saved, for why would he allow them to perform his sacraments and then throw them into hell? All were covered by the blood od sacrifice. Today we have the blood of Jesus, the ultimate sacrifice, the better way. To all that believe and receive, they are saved.

I disagree. If you dedicate yourself to a worthy cause to save someone or something important who cares about a little white lie or shop lifting a pack of gum when you are little. Also in the same instance, aren't healthy people who DO NOT donate their organs sinning. They would rather the funeral director suck out their organs and shove cotton balls in every orifice. One death can harvest enough organs to save maybe a dozen people. Can't you then say you are sinning by NOT saving these people just because you are a selfish human being.

Goof job at making the small stuff look so big and bad and making the big stuff look so trivial.

The major flaw in your argument is the assumption that "Good people" can only be X-ian or at the most from the Abrahamabic faiths.

Gandhi was one of many honorable non-Xians who did not steal, lust (etc etc) & introduced the concept of non-violent protest.

Mind Labels people, things and events as good or bad.

Mind is the dirt around soul. With this dirt mind sees itself as Good or bad world. That is the reason same is seen differently by different people.

When mind stills even for a split second. Soul sees itself in this world and compassion bubbles out for every one.

No one going to save u. One is friend or enemy of own self. There is no Savior except ur own self.

Glad to know that about ya,a thief, liar, and adulterer. Wouldn't be good for a cat like you in my neighborhood. Don't assume since you are a liar, thief and adulterer that all are. I guess some of us have "evolved" more than you
