IN a surround sound system the ideal is for all speakers to be the same (except the sub of course), but in most systems it shouldn't matter too much. Most of the sound in stereo CDs comes from the front left & right speakers, so those should be the best (largest) speakers in your system. In DVDs most of the sound comes from the front center channel, so that needs to be good as well.

As one response stated, you want your best speakers up front. Normally, a lower grade rear/surround speaker is acceptable for a 6 speaker surround set up. The fact that your rear speakers are the same as the front simply means that your system will be that much more kickin'. you should have no probs.

HI. Do you mean you want to use your front speakers for the rear and use your rear speakers for the front. Or do you mean to have another set of fronts for the rear so all your speakers are the same.?

check the ratings of the speakers if they are all the same then it won't make a difference if you switch the front and rear.

a difference in what Volume or sound?, you want to keep your biggest and best sounding speakers up front becuase thats what plays most of your source especially for music.
