Is there a connection between allergies and coughing? I also have anxieties. So I am wondering when my anxieties kick in is that what is triggering the damn coughing I get that makes me feel like my damn lungs are coming up? damn this.. I am so sick of being sick.

I hear ya. I've had chronic allergies all my life. The coughing is probably caused by post-nasal drip. Benadryl (diphenhydramine) works pretty well for me.

Alice K is right. The cough is most likely from the allergies and an antihistamine is what you need. If over the counter drugs don't work to your doctor about a prescription. I do find that benadryl is the best for this problem even though it can make you sleepy.

anxiety can trigger a nervous cough or excessive throat clearing. perhaps an antianxiety med or therapy can help. identify when your coughing starts. what triggers your anxiety? identify the pattern if there is one. good luck
