All you see and hear, and all you talk about are the negatives. Do you know any of the successes?
The media is there with the soldiers, they see the same things they do, but yet what the media says and what the soldiers say are diametrically opposed. Why do you think that is? Do you think the media is pushing an agenda? Does the media agenda line up with yours and those like you? Do you have no desire for the truth or fact?
There is a fight going on, and as such there will be death, it is unavoidable.
From your question you make is sound that you would prefer the carnage here in the form of another 9/11, where innocent men, women and children are slaughtered, versus having rough people who volunteered for the job, doing what they have to do to accomplish their mission.
Do you think our soldiers are not saddened by the lose of their brethren?
How do you think the military feels when their hands are tied buy political rules of engagement? If you want to stop the losses there untie their hands, let the dogs of war lose and quit the criticism and instead praise each and everyone one of their successes.
Until then I will just have to consider you giving support to those who would do us harm because in battle there are only two sides, and you have to decide which one you are on.

I'm sorry but i am a retired soldier. Went to war twice. Luckily came home. But war is war. We no longer have the draft, so all are volunteers. They know they may go to war. How can we accept the carnage on our highways from drunk drivers. How can we accept the carnage from AIDS. How can we accept the carnage from plane wrecks?

Talk about carnage: How many people died in the US on highways in the same month? Try 3300. How many people were killed by guns in the US last month? You can be sure it was more than one hundred. Quit the liberal bellyaching and help work to a successful end in Iraq.

The total estimated human loss of life caused by World War II, irrespective of political alignment, was roughly 72 million people. The civilian toll was around 47 million, including about 20 million due to war related famine and disease. The military toll about 25 million, including about 5 million prisoners of war. The Allies lost around 61 million people, and the Axis lost 11 million
I think we are going to be just fine in Iraq!

Honestly, you ask this question as if you think war has any sort of time table....people, unfortunately, get killed but for us to leave with the job undone would be very un-American. We fight wars to win in this country!

2,000 doctors and nurses have been targeted and murdered in Iraq.
More than 18,000 more have left Iraq.
BECHTEL has pulled out completely because it is too dangerous to stay despite billions of dollars of work remaining to be done.
We have lost this war!
Pull back to Afghanistan and let the Hatfields and the McCoys fight it out.
