I'm an American and honestly...I work w/a few illegal mexican co-workers. (I'm a white guy). After working w/these guys, it has changed my attitude towards illegal mexicans. The guys I work w/are nice guys and they sure work harder than alot of fellow Americans that I know. My "hate" towards illegals should & is aimed at our government. It is the American government that has allowed & provided the pathway for the illegals to cross over into our country. However, I think if America grants immediate citizenship to the 11million illegal immigrants in this country, it will pose a very serious situation in our country. We have a problem now w/social security and just think what it will be after that? Other problems too will come to pass. While I could not deport my friends/amigos back to their country, it is our country/government that created this problem.

Actually when the real Americans were immigrating to this country it wasn't even a country. It was land that groups of people were living on. We established a government and took control of the land. The natives could have done it first, but we were more advanced. Now that America is a established country with laws the work is done so STAY OUT. If the Mexicans are such hard workers why don't they stay in their own country and work hard to make it better
Hey all you British bitches.... ever country has had slavery. Let's not forget South Africa.

In a nation of laws you can't have people just trotting in with no legal status. If we have to be tracked by the government with soc sec #'s etc why shouldnt they? Plus this is not ancient times when we had a wide open country. We are overcrowded, schools are packed and hospitals are swamped giving free medical care. Enough is enough they know the risks in coming and thier kids will suffer when they are kicked out of the country, too bad. Dont break the law in the first place!

The country was founded with discovery as well. The illegal immigrants aren't here to discover America. Obviously there's no system in the early days of a new country. It's unfair to those who came legally so nobody should get any slack on that area.

Becouse they are selfish, they hate everything that look different that themselves just remember whe they kill the indian and take their land, or they kill the slave and put the rest under segregation, they judge agist the imigrants and call them criminals but the things that they made whn they came over here that was a real crime they forced the indians to leave their land many died in the way.

You are indeed a mind-numbingly ignorant person with no idea of American history.
You seem to have forgotten the Hudson Trading Company, the history of Treaties the French and the British had with the natives, etc.
And what about Ellis Island and the fact that all immigrants had to enter there and have sponsorship in the US?
Where is your bourgois outrage at the huge rise in child prostituion, gun and drug running caused wholly by Mexicans?
Where is your outrage at the Mexican coyotes effectively being slave-traders?
Where is your outrage that Mexico considers illegal workers in the US an invaluable and indespensable 30% of their national GDP- where most money gets sent back from the US into Mexico?
Take your pinko armchair Socialism elsewhere and leave us debate in peace on facts.

I wonder if that is the reason? Deep down, do Americans feel that they've no real right to be on the earth mass now known as the USA?
Are they ashamed that their great nation was built, in part, on slavery and genocide? Is it a guilty secret that dare not be discussed?
In the UK, it's considered both healthy and democratic to be sceptical of our leaders, to criticise the government and the Monarchy, to question their motivations and debate the alternative 'truths'.
Although America champions free speech, it often seems you're labelled as unpatriotic if you voice concerns over the actions of the President, speak out against the war or question the greatness of America generally. Even those who didn't vote for Bush often refuse to criticise his actions.
Is this rabid patriotism symptomatic of a deep felt insecurity?
When I hear Americans go on about how great their country is, I often wonder who they're trying to convince.
Is it perhaps like a wayward family member? It's okay to criticise it from the inside, but you'll defend it to the hilt to an outsider?

WHAT?
Where the hell did you get that idea?
Go back and read your history. The original European settlers were COLONISTS. They were colonists for nearly 170 years until they tired of British rule. Ever heard the phrase 'taxation without representation'?

Hey, kno_bod_e_nose, you really do "kno_nothing!!!"
The settlers didn't discover America; they simply discovered it for Europe; the people living there had already discovered it thousands of years before the first European set foot (unless you consider the Native Americans people)
