If she is on day 9-17 of her heat cycle, she is most likely pregnant. Why weren't your dogs fixed? What do you think is going to happen when two dogs of the opposite sex are living together while the female is on heat? Think about it. Get both your dogs fixed tomorrow and you won't have a problem with her being pregnant.

Yep. She's PG. And she could still mate with other dogs - and be PG with their puppies too.
Now then. Take her to the vet and they can give her a "morning after pill" to abort the litter. You have litereally hours - so even today may be too late. but talk to your vet.
When that's done and she's recovered, have her spayed. Have the male dog neutered.
This is an expensive lesson - not to mention heartbreaking since the M-A-P can be pretty hard on your dog.
OR you could simply let her have her puppies - and bear the expense and heartache of getting rid of them.
Either way, this is a tough lesson in responsibility of owning pets. Spay! Neuter!

Yes, she could be pregnant.
What I don't understand is why you haven't had her spayed. It's better for her health, and you obviously aren't a breeder because, if you were, you'd know the answer to your own question. There's a LARGE RESPONSIBILITY involved in breeding your female dog. BOTH your dogs should have been neutered already.
So, get your male neutered NOW. Talk to your vet about your female and follow his advice as to how to get her spayed. I don't know if he'd feel she could be spayed right now, but I hope it can be done. Letting her get pregnant just because you didn't know she might be in heat is not a good reason to have her pregnant.

2½ years old is NOT "so young" for a dog. Many dogs reach sexual maturity at 18 months (sooner for some breeds). Take your female to a vet to confirm pregnancy and discuss the future resproductive goals for bothof your dogs. Animals that have been spayed and neutered live longer and healthier lives.

They're not young in mating terms, they're in their sexual prime! Inexperience makes no difference, people and animals get pregnant from their first time all the time.
If you 'caught' your dog's mating I'll assume this wasn't what you wanted? Why not get them spayed to save their health?

If they actually achieved "contact" not simply going through the motions- probably. Murphy's law of dog breeding means they only fumble to a standstill or have a "miss" when you have a Westminster select going to a foreign stud only in the US for 3 months......

Why were you not watching the female while she was in heat?? Yes she can get pregnant. How irresponsible can someone be, not to watch a girl in heat.

Even though it's unlikely, she probably can afford to raise the litter. Maybe that's why her female dog hasn't been spayed or neutered. Or maybe she's unaccustomed to raising a dog. Stop assuming and know the facts!
