this software add a printer in your printers list so if you print your documents ( like word ,internet ,almost everything that you can print) with that printer it makes you a pdf file from that document.
it is completly free

You can download free version of distiller or pdf wrier...and u can see it is loaded in ms word...automatically

For home users, no one is going to pay a lot, so I would suggest something cheap such as JawsPDF or PDFfactory
