I didn't know that.

Iraqis will tell you public enemy #1 is the USA.

Sunnis will tell you #1 is Shiites.

Shiites will tell you its Sunnis

Any way you put it, its perfectly obvious that Alqaeda has little presence in Iraq compared to those big three.

How can they be #1?
They weren't even in Iraq before Bush invaded.

Probably for the US Al Qaeda is public enemy no 1 in Iraq so they could stay a little longer...
I am sure that as far as the Iraqis are concerned public enemy no 1 is the US...

You are correct in that Sunnis see Shi'ites as their number 1 enemy and vice versa.
By our own government's estimates, Al Qaeda in Iraq accounts for anywhere from 2-10% of the violence. This means anywhere from 90-98% or the violence is sectarian.
Their presence is felt because while they might not do an act of violence every day, when they do it, it is a doozy.
The US is harping on Al Qaeda being the number 1 enemy again to justify the surge and us staying there until this President leaves office so he can re-write his place in history.

It sounds like you need to do some research. AQ is bitterly hated by the Iraqi people.

And 90% of the Sunnis and 90% of the Shia do not regard the other as 'enemy.'

Maybe you should read some Iraqi and soldier blogs and learn something.

Al-Qeada may or may not have been there before the invasion, but they are there now...and are a major enemy of the Iraqi people...so much that most will turn them in, and some factions are openly fighting them now. They are definitely not welcome in Iraq.

your logic is very wrong.

Sunnis and Shiites are both Iraqis

Iraqis do not view us as enemy #1
They also do not view Al Qaeda as enemy # 1
they view Israel as #1

they view terrorists namely radical islamists as the #2 enemy.

they see America as a divided nation that is losing a war not on the battlefield but in the government because people like you want to support the troops without supporting their mission.

newsflash...public dissent while protected under free speech is also watched by our enemies and used to raise the moral of our enemies and when our enemies moral is high they fight better which dangers our troops. SO stop giving our enemy more propaganda and start truly supporting our troops. thx loser

because of the fact no person desires to be reminded of the extensive mistake we made by using invading interior the 1st place, and that we proceed to pour billions of borrowed money down that rat hollow for no sturdy reason. by using publicizing those protests, the media may be showing u . s . what a waste of time, money and blood those previous 8 years have been.

Secularism is the enemy in iraq. For thousands of years they have been bangin their heads on the koran.
Suddenly they have to decide about things for themselves. They explode inside. Soon follows some anto-social act. We saw the looting...
