Is there such a place as Purgatory as the Catholic belief talks about? Do we go straight to Heaven or Hell? Do we sit in our graves and decay? Cease to exist?

If you hear the Word of knowledge (John 3 Verse 16) and refuse to acknowledge it in your heart, then you have had the chance to know that He died on the cross for our sins and have refused Jesus, then on the day of Judgement, Jesus will say "I do not know you" and as there is only 2 places you can go, it won't be to Heaven. If you accept salvation and follow God's Word , on that day, He will welcome you with open arms. There is no Purgatory.

When 2 different sexes invloved in a marriage, during their intersexual , the male sperm will go the ovary of the female womb and create a life, thus the body is created by two people through sexual intercourse. Then a spirit or soul is given by a universal power called God at that special moment. The body and the soul togther become a Human being, each soul is very unique and different. Man without a soul is like a dead person.
When the body and the soul seperates, the body return to the earth and the soul continue to his new journey and return to his Creation. This seperation of the body and the soul is called death or dead.

Sacred Scripture and the constant faith of the Church affirm that heaven and hell, as places, exist. Roman Catholic Christians and other Christians also profess belief in a state of being, not a place, called "purgatory."

Purgatory is defined as a state of being, the continuing process of purgation or purification of the soul after human death.

Cheers :-)

The Bible teaches us that when we die we cease to exist (Ecclesiastes 9:5, 10, Psalms 146:3, 4). The idea that something inside us doesn't die, and continues elsewhere is a lie started by the Devil in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3:4).
For most of us our only hope is in the earthly resurrection taught to us by Jesus (John 5:29, Psalms 37:29), and that hasn't happened yet (2 Timothy 2:18).
In addition to that, the existance of 'hell' is also not true. It has incorrectly been translated from the Hebrew word 'Sheol' and Greek word 'Hades', which mean simply the common grave of mankind (Job 14:13). Also, from the word 'Gehenna', which was a rubbish dump outside of the city Jerusalem, and which was kept burning with sulphur etc. It was used by Jesus in the same way as the 'lake of fire' in the book of Revelation, to show eternal destruction (i.e. no hope of being part of the resurrection). For instance, 'death' is thrown into the lake of fire to show that death will no longer exist, and people will live for ever on a paradise earth (Revelation 20:14).

Ecclesiastes 9:5, 10
For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten...All that your hand finds to do, do with your very power, for there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in She′ol, the place to which you are going.

Psalms 146:3, 4
3 Do not put YOUR trust in nobles,
Nor in the son of earthling man, to whom no salvation belongs.
 4 His spirit goes out, he goes back to his ground;
In that day his thoughts do perish.

Genesis 3:4
At this the serpent said to the woman: “YOU positively will not die.

John 5:28-29
28 Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment.

Psalms 37:29
The righteous themselves will possess the earth,
And they will reside forever upon it.

2 Timothy 2:18
These very [men] have deviated from the truth, saying that the resurrection has already occurred; and they are subverting the faith of some.

Job 14:13
O that in She′ol you would conceal me,
That you would keep me secret until your anger turns back,
That you would set a time limit for me and remember me!

Revelation 20:14
And death and Ha′des were hurled into the lake of fire. This means the second death, the lake of fire

You are basically asking the meaning of life. How many ways is there to ask the same question? I think that's why all the so called atheists hang around Christians so much, because they are pleading inside to be given a proof of God.

As a Roman Catholic, I believe God is a very forgiving God. The Doctrine of catholic faith says, heaven is where we get to look upon the face of God, and have understanding, though still not full understanding. Only God can fully understand. People who have failed God, do not get to see his face. i.e.- When they die, so does their soul. Then we have the bathing of purgatory, where catholics believe all sins leave a stain and before we meet God, we bathe ourselves clean in purgatory.

No purgatory. The Catholic church recently admitted that.
Believers--spirit/soul immediately to be with the Lord, bodies in graves until the rapture, then body/spirit/soul in heaven/ then on renewed earth for Christ's Millenial reign/then in heaven-New Jerusalem for eternity.
Non-believers--spirit/soul immediately to hell, bodies in graves until White Throne Judgement, then body/spirit/soul cast into lake of fire for eternity.

"Where do we go when we die?"

To a place where no one alive has ever been before... a so called place (maybe) based on nothing, but opinions/beliefs and faith!

We didn't sprout from the ground or appear from thin air... some being more powerful than anything in the universe must have put us here (some would like to believe-such as myself). We'll just have to see (when our time comes) if there is a place to go after our time on earth... believe what you want to believe... it's your opinion.

I am a Wiccan and I believe that when we die we go to a place called The Summerlands.. The ancient Greeks called this place Hyperborea... My soul will be added to the pool of souls awaiting rebirth, and at the appropriate Karmic time I will be reborn again... This cycle has happened since the birth of the Universe and will continue until the end, then it will begin all over again as it has done forever and forever... Love and Light... BB ... )O( **** Hey Christians, what's with all the thumbs down--- Remember there is not scrap a of proof your Heaven or Hell exists and your stolen religion, is based on many Pagan religions... We Pagans have been dying for hundreds of thousands of years and our belief systems are very similar.. Your mob has only been around for 2,000 years.. As I previously said your entire religion was stolen from the Pagans...Do some serious research on the subject.. Love and Light BB ... )O( again...
