A horrible book by a horrible hack of a writer obviously intended to be turned into a horrible movie and hey, it happened. Yay.

I read the first few chapters, but it failed to pique my interest. The movie was enough for me. My friends who liked it seem to have liked the tease that it provided. The taboo subject is just too intriguing.

BTW, this is not a defense of the faith the book attacked. In fact I find it so funny that so many Christians are scared of such a play with their minds. The controversy would not have generated by that novel if people had a genuine understanding of what they are taught on Sundays.

To the Christian's credit though, no fatwah was declared against the author.

No.
The six billion us dollars "The missing x-files" is better than the Da Vinci Code in planet of apes.
It's the real thing that taste like coke in planet of apes.
Da Vinci Code is only a million dollars seller in planet of apes.

the da vinci code is literature's equivalent of late nite paid programming. come up with a crazy story, and sell it to people. it's a great idea, but only if you're the one doing the selling.

For most of the book I was totally engrossed and really enjoyed it. I found the end rather an anti climax but overall I thought it was great and it does really make you think. It would be amazing if it were true. It would certainly finish the Catholic church as we know it.

nah, didn't read it...too big, too ponderous...just google it and fit in and say you read it and that it had it's moments where you were spellbound and you can well understand the public appeal, but in most respects it was laboured and wordy. he must be a brilliant guy to have worked this million dollar scam on people, ....you should add.

Yes, I read it.

The concepts underlying the plot were intriguing, but the writing itself was rather pedestrian.

Still, I recommend reading it, if nothing more than to be able to discuss it.

Much better than the movie... not actually a good book, but one that's very hard to put down. I like it - but I shouldn't.
