I agree with Wendy. I've enclosed a link where you can find a qualified chiropractor in your area. They will give you the best treatment.

You may have an instability in your spine that is contributing to the pops when you lift heavy things. Does it make sense to lift heavy things with one hand??? Proper body mechanics are huge in protecting yourself from injury as well as in preventing a problem from getting worse. I would follow-up with your physician and ask for a referral to a physical therapist (PT). You need to take care of this problem before it gets any worse.

It could be as simple as a pulled muscle.
To a slipped, bulging disk in your lower back. They usually give the feeling of a 'clunk' instead of a noise though. And pain when moving. Like it is burning hot.

If it dosn't get any better go in a few days please go and see a Chiropractor.
